Ok' David Armstrong has been put in provisionally at left midfield, but as was the case with Ivan Golac, late voting could yet see Adam Lallana replace him. Here is the team so far.. please log in to view this image Now on to what promises to be an epic vote for Centre Midfielder, as always there is a shortlist of ten, so if your pick is not on the list, name him in the thread and I will count all votes at the end.
This is possibly the hardest one of all. So difficult not to pick Morgan but Steve Williams just shades it for me. I do have a feeling that the younger voters might get their way with this one though.
Tough one. It really depends on how you want to play as a team. Given Matt's presence then Morgan is the obvious choice. But Williams was a class apart; he should have gone much further in the game. That means no place for Cork
Tough one, Schneiderlin the best CM I've seen play by my humble opinion, but if Williams doesn't win we'll be hearing about it from FLT for months!
Cheers Chilco,......I think that subconciously I was trying to shorten his name to fit onto the pitch if he wins!
Okay- went for Stevie, for the younger guys he was a major driving force in us being runners up to an excellent Liverpool team ( and this was all pre Matt and post King Kev). Also soft spot for the scouser Case, he was superb as the playmaker/enforcer behind the young guns in the late eighties/ 90
Williams. I suspect if Bally had joined us earlier and played more he would've nicked it. But he didn't.
Blimey, how good is that list! all of them deserve to be in it. Steve Williams for me though - two goals stand out - the one against Norwich where he dribble past there entire team and a screamer in the Anglo Italian cup v Napoli.
Here's the shocker. I am not diving into Steve Williams. Alan Ball was the world's best ever one touch footballer. Maybe just a little late in his career for me to pick him. He was also my boss once too, so I have a soft spot for him. Sorry Bally (RIP) it can't be you Morgan Schneiderlin is the most complete footballer I've seen in a Saints shirt for many, many years. He is incredible. I think he has every thing Stevie Williams had, but he's not driven us to anything yet and looks to be leaving before he does. Steve Williams is my all time hero however I am trying to put that to one side right now. He drove and lead that 83/84 team to within a whisker of a miracle and all time greatness. However, he broke my heart (yes PL, I have one) and forced a move to Arsenal. ****ing hell this is hard. I've always said Morgan has a bit of Stevie in him. Williams or Schneiderlin. I'm going to have to sleep on this one.
I feel a tinge of sympathy for the other eight. think the runner up of this contest should play off with the left midfield winner
Easiest decision for me. Morgan is by far and away the best midfielder I've ever seen play for Saints. I'd almost go as far as the best player full stop I've seen play for Saints. Incredible player.
