How's this for an idea.
It was prompted by malbranqueslastfag joke ( which I found quite funny, but that's my sense of humour) but I can understand how it may offend some people.
Syd may know if this is possible.
How about having a watershed on the board, so say if you want to let off a little bit of steam or have a controversial joke, or basically you wanna discuss more 'adult' content, it is only accessible after 10pm so the kids will be nicely tucked up in bed. Then like magic the posts will disappear at 7am, but then reappear again at 10pm. You get what I'm trying to say.
Good idea or am I talking ****e ?
 
there is a forum called not safe for work which is passworded, the problem is with your idea, people come on here from all over the world, so 10pm to them may very well be 3pm or 9am, I just dont think its doable really.

and after about 12:30am this place is dead, Newcastle forum is still buzzing, but the Sunderland forum is like BBC606 after 11pm (closed).
 
To be honest, I don't think it had anything to do with watersheds etc...I think we could all see that the joke had potential, but it was the fact that it put the name and location of the person who had just lost his life to a shark attack in full view of his new bride...The point being that this is a public forum and you just never know if a relative or close friend of the person is viewing it..
From what I have viewed over the months Malbranqueslastfag seems like a great lad, and I for one will not hold this against him...
 
Watershed on the internet?

i'm way ahead of you timewise, and i'm easily offended, by all the abuse and swearing, and god forbid any kind of sexy pics.
 
It cant be done, the only way you could do it is for a mod to delete anything before 10 then again delete everything at 7.

I think we are fine TBH, most use the NSFW option if its risky and the joke was just not thought out, nothing nasty was intended and I dont think it ever is on here. Just my view but I think we get it right, especialy on this board, it is an adult board, like in the pub but we do have some younger members, Vaughan Identity for example is 15 and I think we just need to be aware of that, and in the main we are.

Dont want to get all mushy but TBH I'm quite proud of our not606 SAFC community.
