Firstly, I'd like to wish you all a sincere merry Christmas. Secondly, I'd just like to know how the preparations for the Norwich relegation party are coming? http://www.eveningstar.co.uk/news/canaries_crushed_we_launch_countdown_to_norwich_city_relegation_1_926369?action=login As we're 9th at Christmas I wouldn't want you to spend loads on any big banners or anything.
I reckon if - and it's clearly a massive 'if', we survive, we should start polishing and waxing the open-topped bus for it's annual tour of our fine city Don't worry Jonah. I'll ensure you're on the guest list - wouldn't want you to miss any of the fun
I will be ironing my "On loan to the Championship" T-Shirt. Might need to dye it blue & white, change it to League 1 and post it to JWM though.
god i'd forgotten about the relegation countdown clock! ridiculous thing to do, especially when you consider our very own pink'un did the same thing when ipswich last went up in 1869, and that backfired spectacularly!! they should have learnt from that. and its all the more ridiculous when you consider they are more likely to go down than us
I wouldn't get to billy big bollocks just yet, Its a well know fact that newly promoted sides struggle in the prem in the second half of the season once the more established sides work you out and injuries start taking their toll. Only 7 points ahead of Wigan, is nothing to shout about just yet.
i don't know any city fans getting carried away. long way to go as yet but at least we've given ourselves a decent chance. plus, if you take away the top 6 there isn't much to worry about to be honest. i've been surprised by the lack of quality on show, especially when you bare in mind almost all our players were playing in league one in the last year or two and don't look remotely out of place
I hate to say it but i think you will stay up comfortably...................oh just sicked up in my mouth.
You don't look out of place at the moment, It happens every season 1 club that looks at ease in the prem will go on that bad run. It quite tight in the bottom half at the moment a couple of defeats on the trot or too many draws and you could quite easily drop 5 or 6 places.
I dont want you to fail if Im honest. I would prefer the two of us to be in the same league and I would like it to be the premiership. Of course I want us to be ahead of you. Us 4th you 5th would do me fine, although you lower midtable would have some enjoyment to it. I want to see us both being competitive and not always seen as country bumpkins and backward locals (where do they always find the inbred cretins interviewed on TV from?) but if you could beat our record defeat margin that would be an added bonus!
true guru. mind you, dropping 5 or 6 places won't matter as it stands! its all about points - position is totally irrelevant at the moment. we have 21 points from 17 games, so to reach the 40 point mark generally required (though i doubt we will need that many) is 19 points from 21 games; 6 wins and 1 draw or 5 wins and 4 draws. we can afford to lose as many as 14 games from now on, possibly more depending on others tallies. its possible we will fall short of course but many peoples misconception about norwich is that we have no depth in our squad. this is not true at all. check out how many different systems and players lambert has used. some players have done better than others but very few aren't up to it, plus lambert will add three or four in january, probably top championship players like maynard, adomah to give us a hand. it'll freshen things up. the good thing is that we can score goals. lack of clean sheets is a problem but its a problem of our own mentality. we are so attack-minded that we give opponents a chance. i don't have a problem myself with this so long as we get results! its certainly brilliant to watch, if a little nerve-shredding
tractorbhoy, i think most fans would like to see an east anglian derby back in the top flight. when was the last one? 1995? its been a long wait but please don't take offence when i say i can live without you joining us for a little while! perhaps you could use league one as a spring board...
Cheers Superman, Theres me being all friendly and not jumping on the 'must hate your neighbours' bandwagon and then you go and stick the knife in!
Our commercial dept would love to see us back together......they've lost a small fortune this year on mugs, t-shirts, car stickers ect from us tonking you guys ?!! Merry xmas Binners see you all in a few years....maybe ?
You will finish the season in the top half. However, am wondering if any of you fine people have given any thoughts to second season syndrome.
