Its really quite ****. Must be 5,000+ people in the blocks from the Kingsland corner round to behind the goal and the noise produced is less than 2,000 away fans.
It's ****e in the Northam. Number of eejits in there is unbelievable now. (no offence to some of our esteemed members) Not been there since the Barnsley game last season, and that was only one of two times I went in there. Prefer Block 38 tbh, we had a good go at it today but the Northam didn't want to catch on to anything.
Seems to me that to be a "lad" these days it means... 1) Turn up late for the game... that shows how hard you are 2) Don't sing, even if you are in a singing section, because singing is for "scarfers" 3) If we score, bounce towards the away fans, then run if even one of them motions towards you 4) Piss off to the concourse 10 minutes before half-time, again, its a sign of hardness if you walk down the steps doing a "Danny Dyer strut" 5) Leave early, regardless of the score (they would probably claim its so they can confront the away fans outside, in reality they are rushing home to watch Strictly Come Dancing)
Was rubbish throughout the stadium today probably because saints didnt really have even a half chance for 20mins or so during the seond half!
Yep, the crowd were about as inspiring as the team. And unlike the players, the fans can't complain about the fact it was pissing down.
I've been saying for a while it's a **** stand. They rarely sing unless we're 3-0 up and it's been years since I heard a new chant.
The "Pompey Scum" song was coming over quite clearly on the stream I was watching, setting a new standard in irrelevance.
Definatley do need to invent some new chants love to see us adopt some chants from european teams ala Dortmund Ajax Galatasary havesome of the best fans in the world.
They all also have far more fans than us! But yeah, they certainly do seem more passionate, which debunks gomarchingin's theory that teams from poorer areas are more passionate, because all three are from really nice areas.
The atmosphere yesterday was indeed flat and yes Northam you were quiet yesterday. Although "only one Nigel Adkins" came over loud and clear....but not much else.
Agree with this thread, the Northampton/Kingsland corner is now much better for atmosphere and signing Common you Northampton, sing up!
