What a treat this morning - Millwall vs. Bristol City live on US cable TV. First time this season that I have had the opportunity to watch us play and it was a good game.

Here's my thoughts on how we played:

The defence was a bit shaky at times to be honest. Nyatanga had a poor game - his distribution and general play were not up to par. Fontaine was generally solid but I have to fault him for the Millwall goal - too worried about turning around to the ref appealing for handball and absolutely no effort to block the cross that allowed the goal. It was almost a carbon copy of Carey against Stoke at the Autowindshield Trophy all those years back...Other than that one incident, he was okay. McGivern looked a good propsect and was tenacious in setting up the second goal. Skuse had a solid game.

Midfield played well. Elliott was fabulous in the work effort and Kilkenny had a great game. Cisse was solid all match. Pearson looks to be a good player - industrious and unlucky not to score. Would be a good signing from what I saw.

Adomah was immense apart from the ******ed booking he picked up. I hope Del berates him for that as it was ridiculous. Everyrtime he got the ball and ran with it I was on the edge of my seat. Maynard - great first goal and saw some good tracking back when we need it.

Overall it made for a very happy start to the day out here. Pity the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could not also oblige...

Happy Days may just be around the corner. I hope that Fox Sports Canada took the game so Mike could see it as well?

I agree that Nyatanga was very very poor at times yesterday. He gave the ball away, mis-hit some of his clearances, his passing was poor, he got caught out of position etc but let's not take the gloss off of the win or the overall team performance. Kilkenny was great as was Adomah. Maynard took his goals well and could have made another by passing the ball when he tried to chip the keeper in the second half, Pearson impressed me, as did Skuse and Cisse. McGivern did ok but was it just me who thought he looked really slow against their right winger?
On another day we could have scored 5 even though it looked a penalty to Millwall when Skuse pulled back that cheat Henderson in the second minute, and had that been given it might all have ended very differently.
