If the regulator is as successful as those that are supposed to be keeping a close eye on the water companies, power suppliers and railways, then absolutely nothing will happen. The big clubs will continue to employ experts in finance and law, while the small clubs without the resources will get caught up in trying to comply. It is the fans who wish to have a voice, but we will need to see the details to know if a club will have to listen to them.
seems unfair that Forest lose points when they were just trying to balance thier books .... meanhile Man City just plough in with their many lawyers
Probably why there are appealing. Would Forest had been ok if Johnson had been sold earlier then? That was their defence I think. BBC says: "An independent commission found Forest's losses to 2022-23 breached the threshold of £61m by £34.5m" Agree on Man City - seems to be never ending.
Yep and the radio 4 summariser this morning thought they had a good case....as their starting player resource was so little and they had to invest to survive....and they just couldnt get the sale though before the deadline.
Jim Ratcliffe has announced his plans for ManUre - which include no more multimillion transfers as he wants the club to concentrate on developing their own players. Alarm bells will doubtless be ringing at every club as that will no doubt involve them doubling up on scouring every academy in the land with a view to pinching the best young players they can find at the cheapest price. We may as well all give up now I reckon.
This is Ratcliffe we're talking about - reportedly second richest man in the UK. He doesn't like spending his own money, but is happy to spend taxpayer's cash at a great rate of knots.
Let me share with you news of people who really are peed off. Step forward the fans of Ollerton Town FC of the Northern Counties East League. 30p territory. Not been a great season to date P36. W1 D1 L34. Goal diff -134 Home game last night. Lads 1-0 up approaching half-time. An entire half without conceding! YAY! A corner has been turned. Sudden darkness Floodlight failure Game abandoned
Something I don't understand is that different leagues have different rules in the event of abandoned matches Frenchie. In the National League South, Taunton were winning 2-1 at halftime at Eastbourne Borough when the game was abandoned through fog - the match took place again 3 months later and Eastbourne won 2-0 and the full 90 mins. were played from scratch. In other leagues they return only to play the remaining time from the original fixture - starting with the existing scoreline from the first match. In the Eredivisie Ajax had to go to Waalwijk to play out just 7 minutes of remaining time left from their first encounter (previously abandoned through a horrible injury) and travelled 90 miles to hold out a 3-2 lead for 7 minutes.
Looks like San Marino will have to wait a bit longer for that win. 3–1 down to St Kitts. Been waiting since 2004! Think they play again.
As many are asking, when will Man.City who face more than a 100 charges going to be called to account?
Eventually . On going I think . Man City have so many charges they probably have no idea where to start which is part of the problem! Easier to punish clubs who have one or two issues.
A bit like the government at budget time - leave the rich alone and attack the poor because they're an easy target.
Yes - very strong performance. Tougher game v Poland . Georgi one game from the Euros with Georgia facing Greece .
Lots of fuss over the new England kit as it has a multicoloured St George’s flag on it . If people don't like it then don't buy - over priced no doubt anyway .. People will soon forget about the kit once the team starts playing I am sure.
I had an American acquaintance who stayed with me in London. His US passport looked as if it had been through multiple spin washes. His explanation was that he lived in the US Virgin Islands but worked in the British Virgin Islands. His journey to work was first to get a lift on a friend's outboard boat to a neighbouring island where he was dropped off in the surf. He then walked across that island to go through US passport control before he got another small boat that took him to a British Virgin island. Again he was dropped in the surf, went through British passport control and walked to work. Of course he had the same route home. He said that the water was sometimes rough.
