I understand the verdicts but I'm sure an attempt has been made to lessen the suffering of the relatives and to finally reach closure once charges are brought to bear. I'm sure many of their supporters bear some guilt for their personal contribution by unwittingly causing crushing by putting the immediate cause of watching the game above any thought of safety. Obviously the major blame goes to poor stadium design and terrible police and ambulance management. The cover up attempts were disgusting.
pitch invasions ... Newcastle v Forest in the cup ...hooliganism generally ... Trident missile to crack a walnut ...political agenda
I'm sure that none of those there bear any guilt for causing the deaths of 96 people. This is because there is no guilt attached to them. Finally, after 27 years, this myth and mis truth can be laid to rest. This is my last word on this as I'm finding all a bit distasteful. Liverpool fans were, yesterday, cleared by the inquest jury of any blame for a crush that occurred outside the turnstiles leading the the Leppings Lane terraces, and the scale of David Duckenfield's failures was laid bare as the jury's findings condemned his planning for the match and a crucial series of decisions which meant that a crush of fans was inevitable. Got that...Inevitable. Goodnight, goodbye and enjoy the game...
Good to see you FF, don't forget to leave a few quid behind the bar so we can all celebrate you being crowned Champions!
Indeed I am very much aware. I am an Architectural Technologist by profession and when studying for my degree stadia design was my dissertation subject. In particular the turnstiles, concourse and sightlines from the seat. Alas my career has not seen me involved in that area but I am still very well informed on the subject.
I looked at the league tables and the Championship could be interesting next season with all the local midlands teams. Aston Villa Birmingham City Burton Albion Derby County Nottingham Forest and Walsall
Am watching the Brighton v Derby match & just had a deja vu from the play-off semi against Leicester - a beautiful swan dive in the box by a certain Anthony Knockaert. Only the ref waved play on this time...
Boro v Brighton as final game for 2nd place too. Brighton need to win, Boro have better goal difference (I assume if they draw that is the deciding factor)
Leicester City champions! Well who'da thunk it? Bravo. Looks like Spurs toys were landing far from the pram....
Did anyone watch that? Spurs were a disgrace to English football. It was like watching a south American kick fest.
They behaved like spoilt brats at Vicarage Road, especially Kane and the talented but odious Alli. I'm so glad that they have failed to win their prime competition yet again. It is now 56 years and counting - pathetic for a club that considers itself big. I do not like Leicester City but offer them muted congratulations on their freak title.
