Swindon Town player Jonathan Tehoue was referred to by his manager a self proclaimed facist by his skin colour instead of his name(allegedly).

'Di Canio was alleged to have referred to Tehoue by his skin colour, not his name, and is under investigation by the FA over the claims.'

Where is Gordon Taylor who a week ago was still referring to the Suraez/Evra case in an interview on racism in football?,Di Canio has admitted he used an offensive phrase towards the player.

To be fair, Swindon and Di Canio himself have come out and apologised.

But I agree, it appears that any racism related case will always be referred back to Suarez as it set the precedent.

 

So if someone racially abuses a player it carries no punishment because he apologises?

Its the actual comment and not the apology that should take preference.

If Terry releases a statement before his courtcase in which he apologises can he expect the FA to not punish him after the courtcase?

 

Referring to some one by there skin colour is not racist. People in this country need to sort this.

 

Not at all, he should still be punished. However, I feel that they have handled the situation a lot better by apologising straightaway.

And I agree that Gordon Taylor and the rest of the PFA should sort themselves and chastise everyone just like they did with Suarez.

It's no different than referring to someone by their weight (fatty/skinny) or by their hair colour (ginger).

 

in this case no amount of "fairness" can be applied.

in this case the PLAYER's union ought to have been VERY outspoken after a MANAGER abused a PLAYER. there is no way the PFA cannot take some sort of stance (where's jason big mouth roberts btw) when a player is being abused by someone in authority over him.

"Hey you thick ginger tw@t, get the salt over here now you inbred freak!"

Referring to someone by a physical trait is not of itself an insult. It depends on what you say and how you say it.
Imo, Suarez was convicted on little or no evidence- I don't want us to start jumping all over everyone else for the same thing.
Hasn't Di Canio a bit of previous on this?

which is why you've a UNION to call him on it and as i said jason roberts could stick his oar in there on suarez so why not take this up?

I eman lets face it there was only a forore cos the players were famous, not because of the issue at hand.
