Although there was very keen interest in entering this competition, there has been an apparent lack of interest since. Reebok has kindly offered to help me get this competition back on track whilst Tam is recovering from illness. It is quite likely (due to different systems being used) that when I produce the results for October and November there will be some differences from those already published. Any differences may well be errors in logic in which case, if not corrected, they will be carried through to December and beyond. Therefore some checking of your own details may be required before progressing. However, the lack of interest to check one's own details so far and the fact that there has been only one enquiry as to the whereabouts of the latest results does raise the question as to whether it is worth the effort to continue.

I'm happy to continue keeping the competition going if there is still a keen interest but if the interest has dwindled then it will be closed. I recall the Group Race competition on BBC 606 died a death after significant initial interest and a 10 to Follow competition there also suffered a similar fate.

Competitions do take up time and organisers are happy to invest that time for the benefit of others. However, maybe we have learned that competitions over an extended period of time do not hold sufficient interest to make the continued effort feel worthwhile.

I have discussed this with Tam and he has reluctantly come to the same conclusion.

Interest will be gauged from the responses to the request on the Comments thread and a willingness shown to check one's own results from time to time in order to share the load a little.

Far more important than this competition is, of course, Tam's well being; and I'm sure I speak on behalf of us all in wishing Tam a speedy and full recovery.

    Thank you
    Ron

OK. Firstly Nass. Here are your entries to check and also the results for October and November. If you could let me know of any errors it will help me to ensure future results are more accurate. Thanks

Happy to check mine too Ron - not had too many runners so should only be a 5 minute job, and I'll keep my own records going forward.

Thanks Oddy. A lot of differences there. That should help to sort out a few.

    PS
Bobs Worth is an easy one. No ' in the name so didn't match.
Tidal Bay easy. My results are only up to end Nov at present. Tidal bay ran in Jan.

I'll check the rest later, but if you could just take out any results since end Nov it would help.

    Thanks
    Ron

Ron - upto end of Nov as follows:

    Bobs Worth WON EVS (1)
    Bothy - yet to run
    Captain Chris LOST (-1)
Kauto Stone - yet to run
    Knight Pass WON 5/4 (+1.25)
    Kumbeshwar LOST, LOST (-2)
Little Josh - yet to run
    Long Run LOST (-1)
Rock On Ruby WON 7/2 (+3.5)
Sword Of Honour - yet to run
Tidal Bay - yet to run

Total +1.75 so correct to your table

Let me know if you want the later results in a particular format etc

No special format needed Oddy, thanks. I will publish results and it would just help if any errors are picked up. I have noticed, having checked Bobs Worth that there are a few horses that had variations on the spellings, particularly those containing (or not) the '. Hopefully I have corrected those and therefore automatically correct results for those previously not matched.

    Hi Ron,

I love Tam's competition and although it has not featured much discussion, I think people really like it and it is a very useful reference point for tracking your horses and checking entries.

We could spice it up a little bit and give more regular updates, and perhaps even discuss the 10 To Follow in an Ante-Post context, thinking about which of each persons selections might go on and achieve at Cheltenham and how the market speaks in favour of them at the moment.

You could, for example, maintain the current league as it is, and score points based on SP. Or we could also, for example, take all of the current ante-post prices, and run alongside a separate league for entertainment, where the 10 to follow score points based on their Cheltenham performances?

Maybe not. But the main thing is to regularly maintain some discussion, and to think of ideas how to achieve that.

More importantly, get well soon Tam! Best wishes mate. <cheers>

Great idea Toppy. Once I get up to date I'll post the updates weekly and, as you say, create some discussion. Due to the sheer volume, I will probably only post the running totals with full details on request.

Not too sure about the ante-post suggestion; we need to think that through a bit more.

Having made a few changes (in order to improve the matching of horses against the RP Index of Runners) here are revised results up to end November for Nass, Oddy and Zen.
