We had an excellent post on the next three games, a few weeks ago, probably the most difficult sequence of games we will face this season, ie , Chelsea,(h) Spurs,(a) Man.City(h) The expectation was very low. As I remember it ranged between 0-2 points. My over optimistic opinion said two. When in fact we got three. Nearly four or five, gauged by our latest performances. Next up are, Stoke ( away ) Norwich ( away ) WBA ( Home) What can we really expect from these 3 games.....?
As long as we have more points than games played we should be ok, same applies here, 4 points minimum...
Three straight wins for me 999 as I gently rub myself all over in goose fat ... Frying tonight ! Nine nine nine
We definitely need four and I think that's probably all well get. Stoke-draw, Norwich-lose, WBA-win. Thing that concerns me a bit is that we have played very well against city and spurs 2nd half and still lost, but we need to carry that same mentality into the next three games and treat them as the same as when we were playing the big boys in the previous 3. It's all very well playing well and giving the top teams a good game in this division, but end of the day we still lost, and personally I would rather take a bit of a thrashing off the bigger clubs to turn the next 3 games into 6/7 points.
No point in me predicting as the team have surpassed my expectations for the last three weeks. If NW keeps the same line up and formation anything is possible.Im definately more positive than I was three weeks ago.
Ambitiously I'd like 6, but would be happy with 5 and unbeaten. We must beat Albion, fancy us against Stoke ( remind me of Wolves and we walked round them), Norwich on paper toughest.
1+1+1=3 Not enough respect being shown to WBA; everyone seems to be chalking this one up as a win. Hope so, but I remember Newcastle, Villa and Blackburn.
which stoke turns out who knows, could be 0, 1 or 3, Norwich point, and WBA 3, could be 4 or 7 but i am usually wrong
Agree with this, no reason why not if they keep Saturdays level.(not the goose bit!) A win, a draw ,and a defeat, is the more likely though.
Agree...given the last three games, my hope is a lot higher than it was three weeks ago, and we are now looking at teams knowing we can beat them...as we've beaten one of the best, and had a very good go at City. Stoke could be tricky...but they have just had a spanking from Bolton which could work for us or against us...I'll be optimistic and say 7 points.
We need to go on a winning run so why not start here these games are just begging us to take maximum points our main problem will be not to believe our own publicity and get carried away with last week, these are hard graft games so COYRs.
The international break has come at just the wrong time for us.I would be confident of going to Stoke and winning if the game came quickly, but they now have time to sort things out and more importantly they won't have just played in Europe. All of their defeats have come immediately after they have played a European game! They are still mighty good at home so i will be happy with a point.Norwich will be tough but again i think we can nick a point,WBA aren't great on their travels and if Long and Odemwingie are injured i am confident we can take the 3 points. So all in all 5 points is realistic, but more would be most welcome!
All three of these teams will be looking at us and expecting/thinking they can get three points against us. This could either make them play worse or better, but if the lads go about it the right way and keep the ball as well as we did in times against city, we are definitely in with a shout in all these games.
