This derby is not just about pride and bragging rights, it's a huge, huge game for the points.

Sunderland look dreadful, but never write anyone off in a north east derby.

It will be tough and it will be seriously tense around the ground. I really think we will win, and I think we will be alright, but derby games are different from regular games.

The good thing is they will be without Fletcher and Clattermole. Cattermole has been a big player for them in the last couple of derbies.

Their central midfield looks very weak, and we could exploit that with the likes of Sissoko and Cabaye.

3-3 draw would do me but us away to Villa will be more important i reckon, WE DARE NOT LOSE down there if we win i think we will be both safe, about 36 -38 points should be enough.

I always dread the derbie games especially at sjp our only hope is that di canio gets the lads fired up and we have a bit off luck along the way

No, but it's clearly going to have an effect when, for example, when you need to play midfielder at fullback against a very good team

Thats a problem with the squad then surely?!?!?! Escpecially when you consider the extra Europa League front.

Only Reading have lost more games than Newcastle this season. I think your manager has well and truly been found out, injuries cannot be the only reason for this, nor the Europa league cos you whimpered out of the two domestic cups early.

I'd be worried if I was you, Sunderland had more fight in them this weekend than you lot by a mile.

Pards is probably betting on us getting beat and cleaning up before he gets the bullet.

League Cup - lost to Man Utd 2-1 at Old Trafford (don't see too much disgrace in that)

FA Cup - lost to Brighton (possibly due to the fact that we had about 15 players with 1st team experience missing through injury)

Also - Mr Indestructible - as far a squad size is concerned - how many fulbacks do you expect a club to carry? - we lost 3 in a week.

Not suggesting that Pardew hasn't made mistakes (he clearly has) but to ignore the effect that losing players like Colo, Ben Arfa, Cabaye etc etc for long periods has on the team is ludicrous

Injuries with Europa League on top is why we are where we are, but part of it was due to poor planning. We should have signed more players.

Pardew isn't a perfect manager, he sometimes makes questionable subs and tactical decisions, but for the most part I think him and carver have done very well.

What has that got to do with the price of fish ??

Your side kick was gagging our strengths and weakness by one performance/result which is a tad daft

We were set up to be dominated at man city, we went for a point but werent good enough at trying to sit on a clean sheet. Our performances have improved alot the past few month, city away was always going to be a defeat. Always easy for mancs to come on our boards and spout **** about Newcastle and Sunderland.

We shall see, I think you're backing the wrong horse. Derbies up here are usually scrappy poor affairs but if we have the side out I expect then regardless of the Europa effect, we should have too much quality for them. As for the manager, very short term thinking, he just needs genuine time. A Man U fan should know that better than most
