I'm sure you'll be delighted to know that the only hoop (to my knowledge) taking part in the Lima marathon today got round 4hr40min exactly. It was a great morning and I shaved 25min off my pb for Lima and was my second fastest overall. There's still time to sponsor me and the link is: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/perurunningman Thanks a lot, Peruvian
huh, under 5hrs. and at that altitude. quite an achievement, props to u, don't think i could run 5 miles there
Thanks lads and Beth for all the encouragement. Just to clarify I live in Arequipa at altitude (7500ft), but Lima is at sea-level as inkedupp correctly points out. Living at altitude is great for training, but when you come to Lima you have to contend with the 99% humidity! At least this morning was overcast and relatively cool, just the 17 degrees (c).
Well done mate....I'm thinking of doing the City to Surf run in Sydney myself...takes a whole 2 hours or so....MAX !!!
