What's the verdict on the new screen? Nothing wrong with the quality, but I found it annoying not to have the teams up there. The replays were quite interesting, but what's the point in showing the actual game live, when you pay money to watch the real thing? And it's nice to count all the yellow cards when Andy D'Urso is the ref. No doubt we'll get used to all our new players, but you also want to know the away players.
I thought it was very good and the sound and picture quality was excellent. An even better addition to the match day experience was the binning of Dave Lockwood. The new guy was much better.
I imagine the team sheets will be back for the league games. Didn't bother with the west ham game, but the best feedback from it appears to be towards the screen.
The only benefit I can foresee, if they stream the match on it, is how good looking I am in super high definition! Somewhere right now, a portrait getting uglier.
I watch practically no football on telly, even though I have BT vision. I don't have Sky; you can't beat live football, even a pub game. So I go along to support my team and what do I get? Football on a giant telly! All it needs is Alan Shearer "That was a bad miss". I just can't see the point of it even though the quality is excellent.
I don't particularly care either way for Dave But the new guy was awful. Like a work experience media intern. And the video montage with the strange music was ****. Always find it weird that they show things like Chris Powells goal against Tottenham in it. Hope Glovepup is in control for the new season; he normally judges the music appropriately. Other than that I echo the original post, it was a very distracting big screen and didn't like any bigger than before.
