Well what do we all think of how the Referees handled the first round of Premiership matches over the weekend.

See our favourite man in the middle Mr Friend dished out two cards to Boro players, one to Shay Given for running twenty yards to complain about a decision.

Other cards including a straight red for Watfords Watson which seemed fair enough, the contentious one seemed to be last night involving Costa,I didn't see that game so can't comment.

How do others feel things went ?.

I agree that Costa should have been sent off. He was given a yellow for complaining to the ref but then got away with a blatant dive and then a horrible tackle which would have been a straight straight red if it was a Sunderland player.
So it's no change for the big boys.

Just shows the daftness of application of the code but ignoring the laws. I will take some convincing that Cost'a late challenge on the keeper was accidentally late. There was never a 50/50 situation and he took both calf and ankle. Then his manager claimed it was not meant but admitted he had not seen it. Costa getting the winner added insult.

No two ways that the ref bottled it.
