If we bring in this supposed new left back we're meant to be signing...

Do we bring him into the team? 2 clean sheets in a row, would it be wise to change our defence?

I say no, Ryan Taylor might not be the best but it's working at the moment, bring a new left back in but for the time being keep Raylor there.

    If it ain't broke...

no he was found out against arsenal too many times, we need a left back in and soon, and a stiker, we still dont have a good one we can rely on.

I agree but it will eventually and we will need a left back and a goal scorer upfront

It's worked out for us having Ryan Taylor in the team today but I would be much happier to have an established left-back in the team for home matches - there is just no way Raylor can be as good going forward as a left-footed player from that position.

When/If we get a new left-back, I say play him straight away. <ok>

I agree to an extent, only replace him if he has a bad game, fair enough Arsenal, most full-backs get found out easily but he did alright against Sunderland today

I think we're only doing so well atm because Jonas knows he has to track back and help Ryan Taylor. Most of that match (especially in the 1st half) we were pretty much playing with two left backs.

Keeps the clean sheets, but the only downfall is that we don't have Jonas attacking anywhere near as much as he would. It just adds to the toothless offensive play.

The question does has to be asked, what does Danny Simpson offer compared to Ryan Taylor? I have actually been saying this for quite a while now and I still can't give an answer, apart from maybe he's a little quicker....?
In my opinion Ryan Taylor isn't the best defender in the world, but neither is Simpson, and what Raylor does give us is a genuine goal threat and whenever he plays he seems to make something happen in the final third. Whether it be a free kick, a cross, or a rasping long range effort. Danny Simpson doesn't offer any of these things.

I'm sure NUFC will bring in a new left back before Sep 1st, so when they do, I want to see Ryan Taylor slip into Right Back ahead of Simpson so he can offer us something in the attacking third with not much sacrificed in the defensive department.

Nice one Raylor! You doing us proud! Keep it up lad!

Yes make the change as soon as we get a proper LB. Raylor has done himself and us proud playing out of position but he was shown up against Arsenal. Doesn't make sense for me to wait for the inevitable nightmare performance costing us a game before making the change.

Good to know that Raylor can do a job at LB back if needed though. Turning into a very useful and adaptable utility player! <ok>

I think it's a tough decision, because obviously we all want a natural left back playing, but we're defending well as a unit with this back four and we have a huge threat from those wide left set pieces.

I do not really buy the expression "if it ain't broke don't fix it" because you can always improve, so I would say we need to get a good lb as soon as possible and put him straight into the team. Raylor has done very well but has needed help from Jonas which has stopped Jonas attacking as much.

Some defensive lapses from Raylor could cause problems for us, but at the same time I feel that with him in the team we are far more dangerous when it comes to free kicks and that IMO to me makes him worthy of a starting 11 place

I'd like to see a proper LB shoring things up down the left, having said that, Raylor has been solid and has earned more time on the pitch (in another position preferably though)

Can you improve on a clean sheet though?

I'd rather have a natural LB in there. However, it's nice to know he can do well in that position if called upon.

Who will Fulham have on the RW. If its someone particully quick then i'd prefer the new signing but if it's just and average winger then i'd be fine keeping Raylor there

Raylor's done a very good job but I'd bring the new guy on off the bench first game after he arrives then start him from then on if he looks good and up to speed.

Well no, but perhaps it will improve are attacking as Jonas will not be having to defend quite as much.

Pardew has just said "We are playing him at left-back and we are looking to bring in another, but he will have to be a good one to take Ryan out of the team." Is this the first signs of "Here is our new lb, Ryan Taylor."?
