Now, I know the gist of this article will make a certain frequent user of our forums happy, but has anyone noticed how good Jackson has been recently? He has scored 5 in 5 games is the key stat but I think there is a bigger story behind this.

Many fans (myself included) had written Jackson off, feeling he wasn't of much use at Carrow Road anymore, some branding him an 'expensive failure.' At the start of the season he looked good, but then he stopped being a goal threat at all. But then suddenly in our game vs Bristol City he looked like he could start scoring loads of goals. And then in the game vs Scunthorpe he did score loads of goals. He's gone from being a little un-threatening to the perfect foil for Grant Holt upfront.

Lambert didn't give up on Jackson, he kept the faith and now all player and manager and fans are reeping the rewards for this. I know I couldn't do what Lambert does and I doubt any else of us could do either!

DM - you are spot-on with you're assessment, just goes to prove how stupid we are not to trust PL's judgement. I wonder who you mean about a frequent user :)

I never gave up on him but got frustrated watching him promise so much in the build up and delivering very little in the box.

Since his hat trick, and indeed in his short time on this pitch against Scunny, he has been a different player and clearly one that breeds on confidence and yes, it started with the Bristol game. He was very good that night, again frustrating but obviously there was somethng different going on in his life as it was a huge turning point.

If we go up (quietly confident more and more by the day) I hope he can offer the team something but maybe being on the end of some poor results (which is possible at a higher level) his confidence might get battered and his play suffers as a result.

As for PL - what can anyone say about the guy? He clearly can see what ability an individual has, and can see how such an ability can fit in to his plans. The guy has a sixth sense and can bring out the best in maybe just about any player. To me he has proved this with Jacko. As you rightly said, many fans gave up on him and now they are all being proved very, very wrong.

not only jacko, how many other players are playing way above their perceived potential since coming to carrow road, including the amazing holty.

Yeah you know this was aimed to make me happy, Only full of praise for the lad, Didn't want to see him go away from Gillingham and fail at that level and he has made sure he didn't so that is very good.
Good luck to him and the club, Hope he keeps on improving rapidly to the level of Premier league football.

Hoadie you are very welcome on our board, and you certainly are a prolific poster, but sometimes the art of irony passes you by and you really state the obvious :) . Just chill a bit my friend ;)

You really think Roy Keane is/was eager to please?

With his bank balance I would wager he couldn't give a rats arse about pleasing anyone but himself!

No, it's a joke because keen and Keane are spelt differently, but sound the same!

Yeah sometimes I do agree with things too much, But if I don't agree I always express that so, I am just myself.
