The myth of the 20 goal-a-season forward

Ask fans at almost every club in the Premier League what their team needs for success this coming season and signing or retaining the services of a 20-goal-a-season forward wouldn’t be too far from the top of their list.

But this new article shows that not only are such players extremely rare (only 33 in history of #EPL), you don't need them to win the Championship (only half of championship winning sides have boasted one).

Alan Shearer achieved the unthinkable and broke the barrier 7 times in 10 seasons - a simply incredible record, but one that marks him out as an exception.
