Another hugely disappointing result to add what can surely only be another trophyless season and the count is now up to 8 years. During this spell with different sets of players Wenger has often preached the rhetoric of "Mental strength" when that clearly seems to be a quality we lack. Wenger has contradicted this stability with calls that the team were inhabited, nervous, lacking belief when we struggle in the "big games" or have a run of poor first halfs. Successful teams can put a bad performance/result out of their minds for the next game where as for Arsenal if becomes a mental block Concentration is a quality in short supply for this squad, our defenders lose it every game, enough to typically get punished (hence why Sunderland last week was such a positive and rate performance) Even in the finishing department in recent games glorious goal scoring opportunities have been fluffed (Gervinho today, Giroud v Chelsea and towards the end against Liverpool). If its not their mental dispositions then its their quality and why are we wasting time with them? Truth is Wenger inherited mental strength form Adams & Co. which was passed on to his first few squads (i.e Adams to Veira to Henry). But that has dried up and apart from a few exceptions (Wilshere) the team is lacking the necessary commitment and bottle to be a success. Some had hoped Bould's appointment would help but it clearly hasn't and a major change is needed, I can't take another season of this!
