Usually the hours an days building up to an Old Firm game are full of all sorts of emotions. I'll be reading every news article going, trying to get team news while sorting out where and who I'm watching the game with. Tonight I'm just watching it in the house and I don't think I've even looked at a bit of team news in two days. It's fair to say that there really can be too much of a good thing, playing this many times in a season has just wiped the excitement out for me. I think and hope on recent Old Firm form we should win, so it's not exactly nerves - it's just getting bored of playing the same team over and over again.
The main problem with this one is that there have been so many old firm games already this season. Teams play too often now and this takes the fun away from the games a bit.
I agree. Apparently there was some sort of malfunction with the SFA's ball-warming device shortly before the draw was made. They should sue the manufacturers.
Yes, well, I can sort of see what you mean, MalteseMick. One of the most wretched aspects of the Scottish game (in general), I suppose, is the number of times teams play each other ââ¬â about to be exacerbated, of course, if they switch back to a ten team league. Iââ¬â¢m going the other way, though ââ¬â I canââ¬â¢t wait for this match. By some fluke of inattention, and even though Iââ¬â¢ve been a life-long fan of Scottish football, Iââ¬â¢d never watched an Old Firm game up until a few weeks ago (Iââ¬â¢d seen highlights, obviously). I watched the 2-2 cup game and absolutely loved it. Utterly mental, with some pretty good football thrown in for good measure. And Scott Brown. It helps, I suppose, if you donââ¬â¢t support either team. I was able to just sit back and enjoy the absorbing bedlam. (I reckon Rangers will win tonight. Eventually.)
I've hardly even thought about the game which is very unusual for an OF game. I'm really only interested in winning the league ths year so anything else is a bonus. Of course, that will all change once the referee blows for the start of the game and I'll be screaming and shouting like I usually do!
The most unanticipated Old Firm game in years. Not really, just since the last one 4-1 to the Queens XI I feel.
I feel that Walter's masterstroke of banning the players from using Twitter will make all the difference.
I think this will go down to penaltys! Watching it with teh in-laws tonight (and their friends) ... ALL HUNS!
1980ER Are you still blethering away on 606?
Mais oui. Still talking codswallop as usual
Nigella I've been banned by the BBC to such a stage that they now have a Researcher who investigates me any time I try and rejoin Once detected they remove me and everything I've posted. Bunch of ****s!
Who siad personal researcher? I merely said that a researcher takes over my username, changes it to Researcher and stops me from signing in. Please don't post any more of your "hilarious" pictures. I don't think I can take any more without my sides splitting and my head falling off.
Nothing worse than watching the game in mixed company. I watched the first cup game with BRIBS. I like to shout out what I like about decisions, abuse etc without having to argue with someone who feels the total opposite about it Tonight I will be watching the game with fellow bears and no crash barriers
We used to watch the Old Firm games in mixed crowds all the time in our Malta CSC. There would be enough of us, on both sides, to share small minded bigotted views with Actually made it all the sweater/more frustrating when you had either half bursting into song and cheers after the goals.
