Lifted directly from the St Johnstone "we are Perth" site from one of our chaps, aged 18 apparently. Anyway, it goes like this....

"At Bristol City we want a manager for the long term, we had Gary Johnson for 5 years I think it was. He will be backed without doubt, we've spent quite a bit on players in the last few years.. 2.25m on Nicky Maynard a few years ago shows our intent. I think all City fans would be delighted if he guided us to safety this season, then in the summer clear out the dead wood and put his stamp on the team get us challenging for Premier League football within 3/4 years. I believe he is capable of that"

    And the reply (quality)...

"are you really a football supporter?! Realistic views aren't normally allowed so how refreshing to read a reasoned approach to a club trying to fulfill it's potential."

In fact I must compliment you and your fellow City supporters who have come on here in genuine peace and for a decent chat. Makes a pleasant change from the usual 'everything about Scottish football is sh1t and the SPL is about Blue Square level' of English team fans that visits.

If we all adopt this approach, things will be great however I do fear a bit that if we don't win our first 30 games straight, some of the "cheap option" boys will be sharpening the knifes...

We know we are in a spot of bother although todays performance was more encouraging in terms of chances created however, WHOEVER we appoint, has to be given the time to assess and then make a plan to get us out of the mire.

Worst case scenario, remain in the division

Super optomistic, climb the table and challenge for play-offs - it can be done, think Phil Brown and Hull (how could we ever forget)....

Jeez, just looked at OTIB for the first time in ages - so glad I decided to come here, some of it is absolutely cringeworthy

Apparently, we are looking at hiring some bloke called Macminnis and Dave Jones is the Messiah - interesting that in Scotland, they called him a pereninal failure

    Funny old game football...

Whoever it is will be under no illusion of the task ahead. I am sure the brief will be "keep us up at ALL costs".........end of. His task will be to survive and assess. The team, imo,is about 50% league one player standard and 50% Championship player standard.
With a fresh face, new ideas and a boost in confidence I am sure we will stay up........not easy, but I am sure we will do it.
The assess side of things I think will sort itself..........at least half the squad will have to be unloaded as they are simply not up to it or don't want it. It baffles me how players that were decent a season or so ago have come to look average at best.........is it age? the so called "comfort zone",poor management..........I don't know!
If its true that its between MR and DMc then I am swayed by Del boy.......both are a gamble but I have read only good things about Del boy and MR just does not excite me.
Better performance yesterday though and we deserved at least a point :)

Not yesterday John, what is it with you - they don't score for a few games and then all of a sudden they are crap..?!

If we played that same game again 10 times, we'd win it 8 times, just one of those days...

"oooo arrrrrrrr i wanted martin o'neil ooo arrrr" <laugh> how very true.

What I will say is whoever is appointed will get my support for at least long enough to realistically start again and do the job. (I want Mcinnes now!) but should the worse still happen my anger will be toward this board who brought this mess upon us with some shockingly bad decisions previously.

John, our strikers never really missed any chances yesterday (as such) but our MOM Marv did miss a couple of headers that were sitters, but lets blame Maynard eh!
