I felt myself nodding in full agreement with this: http://footylatest.com/southampton-owe-it-to-clubs-outside-the-top-six-to-stand-firm/56273
Yes. It just doesn't make sense not to push that bit more. We can all see the potential. Good article, but not what the status quo want. A competitive premier league is far more exciting, just like this season.
dont want to say "spot-on" again but really is. come on SFC, MoPo & the players - let's do something even more special than last year. COYS
Refreshing and realistic article. I forgive the tiny detail errors, as the general sweep of the article was the main thing - should clubs allow themselves to become alsorans in a league dominated by 4-6 teams..? Anyone who has read my stance on this will know that I am entirely for competition and against the current status quo, where big clubs hoover up all the key talent in order to make their direct rivals weaker. They don't necessarily need any more excellent players/managers, they just need other teams not to have them. It's a simple and effective process, and it kills competition. EDIT: Good find, StG.
It should all be about sporting endeavour, and I'm sick and tired of pundits and fans equating money and success in football as a given law. We owe it to football to push on and challenge the top 6 next year.
I think the media (written and tv) have enjoyed Saints this season...after all, they must enjoy something positive to talk about rather than the same old guff. I am sure most people in the game will be pleased if we stay firm and do well next season.
Nice one St G....a decent article with very little B*******. Makes a nice change all we need is the confirmation we are all hoping for...........
Let's hope the Saints stick together and make it to the champions league. That sort of achievement goes down in history for ever, no amount of money matches this.
