Appears to be Lord Jip Jaap Stam. He obviously deserved the post, he's brilliant. Promote him, I love him. Far better than anyone else.
I see you're in one of your better personalities today, ER. Change of meds seems to be doing the trick. Well done.
He's not that bad really, when it comes down to it. I think his occasional grumpiness is caused by joint pain.
This is an outrage. Tampering with my posts. That's the last straw. Bin him now Mick if you have the balls that is.
Hmmmm - I'd always have said Ray Davis on that score. I read a biography on Paul Weller the other week - he doesn't come across as the nciest person in the world......
Aparently Wellers a right ****, but musically and style wise he's top man. Michael Jackson was a peado but still a good dancer. What came first The Who or the Kinks?
I don't mind the Who at all but always believed that the best British bands of the 60s were the Stones and Kinks hence picking Davis as the modfather rather than Daltry. Weller's an odd one - my brother used to work in a pub in Surrey that had jamming sessions and Clapton, Bowie and Weller turned up at different times - apparently Weller was easily the best as he was quick to give tips to the musicians and let them have the limelight - clapton just took over and used it like his own gig and started slagging all the others off for not being able to play!
I agree about the Kinks, Davis was a geneous. In many ways the Who got lucky as they were just starting out in the early 60's as the Mod scene was in its infancy. The Mods quickly latched onto the Who and it exploded when My Generation came out. The first main stream recognised mod anthem. Ps I wish to point out all this was way before my time, I've always had an interest in 60's Mod, Skinhead and Norther Soul culture
