Just want to see who people think or rather want leeds to sign to fill in that final midfielder role

Although im torn and keep coming up with different answers I vote for alan smith although most fans on here seem to still hate him, i think he would do an excellent job and is the type of signing of promotion chasing team

if you vote other just name em

I've gone other-I know it divides opinion, but I do think Montgomery could do a job for us, and wouldn't break the bank, with the Blades having going down.

The two options you listed that I like are Michael Johnson and Tamir Cohen, although Johnson needs to prove he's over his injury difficulties, and Cohen needs to show consistancy, as sometimes he puts in a quality shift, and other times you are surprised to learn he was on the field at the end of the game!

    hey.....
    sorry got to disagree.....
he had the chance last season and turned us down flat and chose to take more money from the blunts..... the so called Leeds fan is a average DM who played all last seaosn and got relegated.....
For me he can stay and rot with the blunts......
I dont believe he will improve the squad at all...

    but its only my view.....:bandit:

Personally I don't think we need any more midfielders,I'm happy with Clayton sitting deep alongside Brown..
I'm more worried about the strike force, with Beccho(hopefully not for long)& Somma out.
in addition to the two more defensive minded midfielders we have an abundance of AM's,but what the squad seems to lack in the absence of Somma is a real out & out goal poacher.
So I've gone for other-Adam LeFondre.

    Johnson if fit.

Safer bet would be Cohen for me.

Wrong, he's a stronger Neil Kilkenny. We already have Brown so that rules Cohen and Smith out. Barton isn't established enough at a high-ish level and there are concerns over Johnson's fitness and wages, so Clingan seems to fit the bill nicely.

It's hard work following all the rumours about Smith and Leeds United, just today he's been spotted at Thorpe Arch, Leeds Railway Station, Elland Road, Hilton Hotel in Leeds, the Newcastle training pitch, St James Park, Hull's training ground, Murray Park in Glasgow, Ibrox and to finish off, he signed some blokes top in Leeds today, with a "we'll see" when asked if he would be coming back to Leeds United. Wonder if he actually left his house today?

johnson - wasted at city...cant help but think he'll do great wherever he goes - clingan would be a great signing having had him a few seasons ago at norwich - in our relegation season he was a absolute stand out - probably not a big enough name for such a big club (chortle) but think he'd really fit into your team and make you genuine contenders...sign the pair and i think you'd make playoffs at a canter...sign a decent striker to cover becchio and i think you could have a close run at automatic...

now, keep it quite, but theres this gem going by the name of cody macdonald...

what about a harry kewell swansong? not sure this is true but heard the club he is at (which i cant remember the name of, nor can i be bothered to google - think its a turkish team) - that when they make over their average gate attendance - he takes the additional profit...surely that cant be true...can it?

harry kewell is a **** so you never know what money he tries to get his hand on

And with johnson and clingan, you say sign both but we have michael brown now cant see us getting 2 more midfielders, johnson would be fantastic but you must question his fitness levels i suppose and i'd prefer to take a risk on smith than johnson but i also think cohen would be a good signing. Clingan just sounds a bit of a nothing player, ok at a lot of his game but nothing about him stands out if you know what i mean, exactly like kilkenny was

That's not fair, what evidence do you have to back this up. I remember a charity auction in Yorkshire a few years back when Harry gave a few Leeds items and never asked for a penny in return!

Cohen and Smith are exactly the same as Brown, there would be no point signing one of them. It's not about getting in "big" players it's about getting in the right players.

i completely agree its about getting the right players not big players but i think that we should be looking at smith or cohen, they are the type of player we need in my eyes. Brown isnt an out and out defensive midfielder, hes got much more to his game, he's a very good passing player just likes to sit deep as he gets more time on the ball, the same with smith he is not an out and out defensive midfielder, he still has many of those attacking attributes that he left leeds with. I wil concede with cohen but first choice signing for me would have to be smith

And bigfatboab, harry kewell was supposed to go back to Australia to end his career but he asked for too much money and asked if they get more than this much attaendance then he gets a massive percentage of the extra attendance. I genuinely hate harry kewell, infact i have never known anyone in any career go from one of the most loved players to one of the most hated
