Step forward siggy!! exactly what weve been missing in the midfield, someone with a bit of guile and can slide a pass through. An outstanding swansea performance today we out played Arsenal at times, the defence was a bit gung ho at times and we got lucky with our poor positional play, i felt a few of the boys wanted to go out and prove their ability against the best and they did that.

Kemy got subbed at half time, i was dissapointed when he never filled in for ash when he was up field and it almost cost us dearly but Vorm saved from van persie, i was wondering if its this kind of disipline that forced the change ?

Siggy looks like the real deal to me, will be a right handfull when fully fit, some of his passing was very intelligent and Graham looks like he will profit big time from this guys presence.

Arsenal were poor defensivly but we still needed to score, and we did !!
DG is very much the human version of the Duracell Bunny ! never stopped working and took his goal with the confidence of a seasoned prem performer,so so happy that he is finding the net regular after a difficult start.

what are the views on siggy? will our midfield for the next game be Leon, josh and siggy ? allen played well but hasnt got it going on in the final 3rd,the competition for places has just jumped up another few notches!!

we wernt our clinical selves today,i think the instruction was to go out and inspire the crowd and play the game with a passion, it meant defensive frailty but sometimes you just gota say "what the ****" !!

Views on a super swans show today ??

Unfortunately only have him until the end of the season and from what i've read there's little chance of a permanent deal at the end of the season.

But an outstanding performance today from the boys and long may it continue.

Well I thought Sigurdsson was excellent. Very good vision and execution - he certainly won many admirers today. If he can keep that level of performance - we simply have to try and buy him.
For me it is a sign of how far we have progressed when Arsenal scored their first - I wasn't worried - I had belief in us that we would get back into it. Yes we had a few dodgy moments in defence - and usually you get punished for those mistakes, but the same goes for Arsenal - our second goal came from the type of error that we have made at times this season. It was good to see us capitalise on it for a change.
We were very very good and I am so happy with a very sore voice to boot. I LOVED TODAY.

The Sig, he can certainly pick out a pass. As mentioned DG will be relishing him playing with that lovely slide-rule of a pass to him. Happy days!!!!!!!

Its of course very early to say but he would be a perfect signing for us, seems to have everything, it was the same when borini came into the team, his quality stood out straight away, this lad isnt even fully fit yet so there is more to come from him!!

The supply to DG has been as issue but some of the passes this boy was playing to him makes it a mouth watering prospect! all this is before we have the chelsea boy to look at!
Josh will have to be some player to walk into this midfield, joe allen will probably be under threat but i think we will see a rotation of leon, kemy, sig, allen, josh playing the lions share of games.

According to somebody on Planet swans mark gower left the ground before kick off in a bit of a huff! not sure if that is true or not, anybody hear anything ??

Agree Sig looked excellemt today plus he must have raised the average height of our midfield to 5'6" :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I expect Josh to be no more than sub for the next game as he settles in plus he wont be able to play against Chelsea in the following game.

amazed the way Sigurdsson just slotted in today , with josh mceachran looking like coming and adding another midfield position , things really are looking up.

Its easy to get carried away on days like these, but its a great time time for Swans.

It won't take off as far too complex for a chant, but here's my ode to our new 'Starman' (Bowie refernces throughout !)

Sigi played midfield, passing good to Graham or Dyer,
The crosses from Mars, as if placed by a hand
No pass was too far
Became the special man, and we were Sigi's band

Don't forget we have Situ to join this midfield also and BR must like him, since he has had 6 months to look at the lad and make his mind up (and there's already a perfect song in place for him if I recall!)

I think days like these are exactly about getting carried away !! im reading the comments on the gaurdian sports report about the game, so so proud of my team may i suggest others take a look, there are some fantastic comments from supporters of the game of football.

What im picking up on with the swans is that other fans can see that british players can be as good as the overseas talent that comes here, the talent is obviously there in the british players and i think football fans appreiciate the way in which these boys are coached to play the right way, it can only be good for the british game long term :)

all coming from lower leagues and playing like world class superstars, i am very proud of that TBH :)

Norway its a great day.

But

Pen was dodgy, arsenal are playing with 10 injuries and have been shipping goals this season, realistically the game could have gone either way.

Yes i know all that!! but you can only beat whats in front of you and dont forget the bookies had Arsenal favourites to win this game too (never met a poor bookie so they arnt wrong very often!)

We were favourites to be relegated this season we must remember this, but i also think its the manor of todays performance as much as the result! we played our passing game without fear, this made me very proud, i would have been just as proud if we drew or lost as long as hte performance was the same.

What alot of people are forgetting though,is that arsenal were extremely lucky to beat us last time and they didnt have a big injury problem then, so maybe it shouldnt be a big suprise that we were equal to them today ?

Yes but it didn't. And you can only play the team in front of you. Let's face it, how many of those Gunners would we jump at if given half a chance .... RVP, Henry, Ramsay, Song, Walcott ... They may be playing with weaknesses at the back but in midfield and forward they can and will pack a big punch for the rest for the season.

I thought " The newest link to arrive " played well . The way the outside midfielders & defenders were throwing caution to the wind & getting away with it left the guys in the middle with room to spare . Never missing , just evolving IMO

An outstanding performance from Siggurdson today. Every corner he put in was quality too, and that's a first for us.

Not sure Agustien did much wrong first half though, but the switch worked.

No kemy didnt do much wrong at all, i beleive his contract is up at the end of the season and i would like to see kemy retained,he has worked hard this year and is now a proper member of the team.

i see the midfield rotating around leon, kemy, allen, josh and siggy i dont see there being a place on the bench for gower, dobbie or orlandi :)
