Does Short have the ambition to appoint a good proven manager and back him and have a go at making us a good top half side?

Guess we will know soon enough but my gut feeling is telling me im gonna be dissapointed as i have been in the past!

Short has a real opportunity to get things right here and appoint a real winner withe a wealth of experience and actually won something!

MON or Rafa would do me!

Yep the club has cut right back on transfers and top targets, we've gone from Bent to Dong, I can only see us appointing a manager at about Bruce's level - Alan Curbishley (although I'd say he is better than Bruce). I can't see us going for a top manager. Let's be realistic despite what we were told how many of us still feel the current regime want Europe? Midtable seems to be high enough, I think our finances dictate that....

Whoever comes will have his own agenda and his own budget target. Lets just hope he is listened to. There's no evidence that he won't be.

  8. Bill Kenwright is no way a greedy owner, more a fan that has little or no cash to sustain a Premier League club. He was a Coronation Street actor FFS that didn't hit the dizzy heights of his profession in the 70's but plowed what he did have into his team. I remember once, Steve Gibson saying at Boro that he wasn't rich enough to keep the dream going for his team and he was right, they were relegated..

I agree, Joe. Whenever I hear Kenwright speak he is honest and wants to sell for big money to kick the toffees on. I'm only surprised it hasn't happened in all these years?

Much better pedigree than, say, Man Citeh.

We could get Moyes imo but:

Why would Short get Moyes when he would need to pay Everton a hefty compensation package, when he can get MON and Hughes for free?
