Well. He said he'd invest and he has. I think we've recruited really well and more importantly let no one go who we didn't want to let go. Mike. It's rare I say this but I salute you. Now let's hopefully climb the table.
Credit where credit is due. But he has to keep learning and remembering why he will be getting praise for the last two windows.
Yep he's put his hands in his purse and this time moths didn't fly out. Well done! Defence is STILL an issue. I guess we can plonk Colback at LB until the end of the season, but any more injuries and we are royally ****ed.
You say put his hand in his purse, but he's only spent what the club had saved up over the last few seasons through him trying to run the club on shoestring and turn a profit. If we'd just spent (wisely) season on season we'd probably not have these gaping holes in the squad that we can't fill in this crisis and we'd probably not be in serious danger of relegation right now. Fair play, the penny has dropped, and I do think there is a shift in his aspirations for the club, but he's the principle reason we are in the clarts in the first place. It would be typical for us to spend so much and still get relegated. Shutting the gate after the horse has bolted and all that.
Left Back and Centre Back were utter necessities but I don't think that can be laid at his door. He stumped up good money and I look at our team and see improvement. £100m worth of improvement? Not convinced, though Wij alone is worth a chunk of that and others we signed in the summer have had a chance to bed in and improve - just a shame Thauvin isn't one of them.
Regardless of blame we havent got a premiership quality striker and a terrible defense to boot. Curtains on our existance as a premiership club.
I'd say Wij is £30m now.... with Mbemba and Mitro eventually rising to £20m after development. Townsend after a good season is another £20m so wherever I look I see £20m chunks of potential left right and centre.......
How many times mate Weve already sold them. The ones we have are all turd apart fro gini and we will have to wait and see if the recent signings make a difference. We will certainly lose as usual at goodison, so yes we still lool like going down and i wont change my opinion until im given some reason.
Let's hope so. It's what we need to survive. All I'm going to say...if Keegan had his hands on this lot we wouldn't be where we are.....
I dont understand? Were still crap, still have wonga on our shirts etc etc All weve done is spend and waste money which we wont do for about another ten years again even if we stay up. I made my mind up years ago and im not fooled unlike all you plebs.
The Squad is now as strong as it has ever been GK - 1st: Krul - 2nd Elliot - 3rd Woodman/Darlow RB - Janmaat, S.Taylor, Mbemba CB - Mbemba, Colo, S.taylor, Dummett, Lascelles LB - Dummet and Haidara RM: Sisssoko, Townsend, Aarons CM: Shelvey, Saviet, Colback, Anita, Tiote LM: Townsend, Perez, Wijnaldum, Aarons ACM - Wijnaldum, De Jong, Shelvey ST - Mitrovic, Doumbia, Perez, Cisse, Riviere Hopefully we wont see much of the like of Riviere, Gouf, Marveaux, S taylor. But looking at the squad as a whole, its good to see a variation of options and players that can have an influence from the bench. In the Summer, i think Willems is a must, a new CB and I think it very much depends on the form of Doumbia as to whether we bring another striker in. Potentially a front line of Mitrovic, Doumbia, Perez, Armstrong. I wouldnt be too upset if we didnt bring another striker in, berahino would be good, but I cant see it happening. CB, We need to sign another top CB in the summer, faze colo out. Potentially only 2-3 first team players and then a couple of young players to replace out-goings like Gouf, Marveaux, De Jong.
