Continues. He plays we win. He doesn't play we don't.
Reading is stretching it like but...
If he was in that midfield for their second goal they wouldn't have scored. Hudd was all over the place and so was Jake.
Plus as my lad kept pointing out Jake was ****ed, he was nackered the last ten and should have come off. He's the fittest kid around but covering Tom takes it out of a player.
Do we put meyler in mothballs for the play offs?

I think yesterday was a prime example of not needing him at all. Tom was outstanding yesterday and it was a decent showing from Livermore as well (although as you point out, he did tire towards the end). The game didn't suit Meyler at all, we lost because of a poor piece of defending, we dominated the midfield for the entire game.

We need him for gritty games where the opposition rely on bite (games like Rotherham, MK Dons and Preston), not games like yesterday.

"I opted to give Jake Livermore a break by leaving him out of the 18 man squad for Reading. He's played a lot of games since he came back. With the sports science we have and everything else we could see that his figures from the last couple of games were right down and that is due to fatigue."

Leeds didn't scrap, their midfield is pretty decent. It's when you come up against Barton, Watson and players of that ilk where Meyler is most effective.

The big black kid in their CM was a donkey. He made hud look quick.

We didn't win. It's the Spurs way. The score doesn't matter as long as we look good.

Picking someone who continually falls over, loses the ball and passes to the opposition is never a good idea

It's this forums way! Whoever isn't playing is the best player we've got & should be starting.

Out of interest, who would have been the man to give way had Meyler been fit enough to play?

    I'm disappointed.

An ideal opportunity for you to flog him a pair of retro jeans and a Harrington gone begging.

    And a pork pie hat.

    Thanks to TOP off CI.

    With Meyler. Wins 19/26

    Without Meyler. Wins 3/17.

    Unbelievable Jeff. But true.

If Meyler doesnt play against Derby we are ****ed.

I wonder if the others try to play when Meyler is on the field just to make him 'look sjhit'

Meyler brings movement and energy to midfield. Without him our midfield is far too static and immobile.

The midfield was far more static against Wolves than it was against Leeds.
