http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...-green-as-petr-cech-replacement-10243888.html I'd take the money now.
This was mooted a few weeks ago.....take the money. In fact play McCarthy in the next 2 games to give him some confidence and tell him he is No1 next season
Rob Greens has done well largely this year and is the least of our problems The one game I saw with McCarthy he looked good He is young keen good and cheap and the future so lets get the deal done and remove the wages
Sounds good except £ 2 million for England's keeper is peanuts. It's Chelsea too, so that 2 needs another 0 behind it.
Agree with this...nothing to lose But Chris the old softie will play Austin, Green, and Phillips....so we can say good by to them just like he played SWP on Sunday for one final farewell!!!
£2m for a 35 year old with a ready replacement waiting in the wings is a great offer. Sell, but I would be sad to see Greeno leave.
Perhaps as #2 at Chelsea he would get the nod for the cup games? Good timing for the transition to a younger keeper - not sure how much longer McCarthy would be prepared to wait in the wings, especially at the Championship level.
I wish only the best for Rob Green .................... he put in a shift all year long. If only we had a team of players with his attitude, we'd be celebrating mid table survival.
This, assuming McCarthy isn't peed off with being a benchwarmer this season and clears off. Also thanks to Greeno for his performances overall in a tough year. Could have been double figures on Sunday if not for him. If Chelski want to relieve us of $50k per week, that can only help us in these difficult times... maybe we can throw in SWP as cover for Hazard - got to be worth 50p
