Are the timings of our Press Releases completely wrong ? Just before the transfer window opens we announce we have plenty of money. This means that any player we enquire about will suddenly become more expensive. I know we are not in the same league as Man City but as soon as they mention a player then the price doubles. Surely it would have made sense to wait a month, plead poverty and try and get the best deal. (Have these people never tried to buy a second hand car ?) We announce that a player is available for sale just as the transfer window shuts. Once again, why not wait until the time is right to make these announcements ? Moan over !!
It could work in our favour for loan signings, as our club looks appealing for higher clubs to send there players for game time due to us being top of the league also with us mentioning we have money, this means we can afford players wages that would increase the likelyhood of clubs making us aware that they have players for us for loan?
Sorry I missed this, where did we say we had plenty of money? Must admit I have not kept up with some of that gossip recently. Unless PS has suddenly won the lottery, we need to be as tight as ever with the purse strings for a league two club.
it was muted that in saturdays programme there was going to be a statement saying we were out of debt. however this doesnt mean we have money to burn as has been suggested, mearly that we are in a stronger finacial position that we have been in a long time, mainly through the income generated in the summer through gazza and the various games played clauses etc
Thanks jokey. You prompted me to look in my programme (page COM 09) and cutting a very long story short it says: 'as of now we have no bank debt whatsoever' Erm.
