The masters starting this week, is anyone watching/taking an interest? looks like Tiger will be back in action as long as he feels ok after another practise 9 tomorrow. The course certainly looks gorgeous!
Augusta always looks good and the course is amazingly well prepared and the Azaleas always look superb. You cannot beat a well-pruned bush. Weather forecast is decent with sun and no rain, so probably favour an American winner this year.
I’ll be watching and doing my own version on Saturday - don’t usually stay up to see finish now unless a Brit got a chance really.
It's definitely on my list, but I'm still struggling to hit straight so saving trips like that for when I won't look stupid
I've been offered a round there from a customer based in the USA, they have a membership ( the figures are frightening ) but I've told him it won't happen for a few years. If I ever get a chance to play somewhere like that then I want to at least not set the record for the worst round haha
I'm going to make myself a pariah now. I like golf a lot, both playing and watching, but I've got a real problem reconciling that with the amount of harmful chemicals used to keep the courses in 'acceptable' condition. I know it's getting better slowly but it's still a big problem imo. I'm playing less and less these days but spending more time at the driving range. I have the same dilemma with fishing (the coarse variety), as much as I like it I'm pretty sure the fish don't, I'm now thinking of switching to fly or sea fishing where I can at least eat what I catch. I'll be following the Masters though...
I’m just hoping no one throws a plastic bottle on the green… Great tournament., scored big on Nick Faldo 22-1 when he won his third. Couldn’t believe the odds for each way.
It’s Tiger time Amazing round surely he can’t make another comeback??? A one-under 71 for Tiger! Tiger rolls in a confident par saver, and that is a statement round of 71 for the almost super-human five-time champion! Did we really think we’d see this again after that harrowing car crash last year? But here we are. He’s just three off the lead ... and two behind his playing partner Joaquin Niemann, who makes his own par and signs for a 69. Meanwhile a bogey for Im on 10, the result of only just making it onto the front of the green with his second, the ball rolling back off down the fairway. He slips out of the lead and into a share of -3. please log in to view this image
Was great to watch him today, he looked like he'd never been away let alone away as injured as he was.
Augusta always looks wonderful, a pal of mine had the pleasure of playing there once, he said the greens are just so fast nothing he has experienced on any other course. The skill of these guys is just amazing.
It was great to see Tiger playing again. He's limping, he can't get down to line up the putts like he used to and he doesn't have the same turn in his swing. But he's still better than the vast majority at Augusta.
