Quoted from JustMike from SaintsWeb (The man who organised the flag): "Just got off the phone with Jordan, not good im afraid.... The family, touched by the initial concept and the appearance at the memorial game, dont wish to see it at home games as it is a reminder of their loss. It will only be used at SMS on the tribute game once a year. However, I have arranged to pick it up and get it used at away games which with the help of some people on here will hopefully work. I do anticipate some issues with permission but I guess its worth a go. From a personal point of view I can only apologise for how this has turned out and if I could have forseen the issues we have had I would never have started it. Thanks to all those that contributed both in money and support." I can understand and respect the family's wishes but we shouldn't have been kept in the dark so long. But maybe the club didn't want to jump all over the Liebherr's asking about a flag with their deceased father on. On the bright side we can use it at the Memorial Game and for some away games, that's good enough for me. DTLW
Shame, but certainly wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. The family are known to be very private. Not something anyone could have predicted, so no one's fault really.
Totally agree. The family have always been withdrawn and quiet, just like Markus. I don't think I ever saw him do an interview, think he didn't like that kind of stuff.
one postive is it shows the family must still be in attendance reguarly to stop the flag appearing? nothing wrong with being private and withdrawn, in fact I respect it so
With the ground being full there isn't much space to display it! It will be even more respected being shown perhaps once a year.
