From birth till I left school I was allowed to be a child. From 16 to 21 I was allowed to be daft, do daft things and grow up. From 21 till 60 I was sensible, worked hard, voted and thought my vote counted, was responsible for a mortgage, child raising, career. Then at 60, divorced and retired things changed, I am allowed to be daft again, I say daft things and most laugh and say,â old age is a funny thingâ, some say,â the wisdom of ageâ, thatâs a concern. What stage are you at, or donât you know?
I am 28, hard working and responsible. I get shafted by everyone (government, health service etc) every day of my life and yet people who have never worked a day in their lives get all the help they could possibly need. I am beginning to think that it doesn't pay to be an honest, law abiding citizen.
Oh believe me I am strongly considering it. There are days when I wake up and think 'Bloody hell I really want to sell house, car and all my possessions and emigrate'. Just a pity I wouldn't get much for the house in the current market.
so if anyone wanted to move, whats the best place to go? I know its Cyprus for me but I'm retired so what about for a 20-30 year old.
when i was around 28 i worked in engineering, a mate and me attended an open day for a company wanting people in canad,a 2 year contract. i stayed my mate and his wife took it up. she cried almost every day, missing home and family then they came home for a 2 week holiday, she stopped crying and they never came back.
