In an effort to maintain a core of people who will keep the club as it is we have some great names still with the club. They are part of the identity of the club and as with the Bayern Munich model we will come to realize their importance to remaining with the club.

So far we have the following retaining positions in the Manchester United FC Hierarchy in some form (i.e. coaching, ambassadorial, board member, player scouting) and it will help preserve what this club symbolizes:
In the future I would like to see the following rejoin/remain in the Manchester United FC hierarchy in some form:
However definitely not David Beckham, the media would once again transform MUFC into the Beckham show, I would hope the club doesn't sign his kid because it would still bring that media circus back. Great player but his image doesn't fit in and distracts.

Rooney and Roy Keane sadly I wouldn't want to see back despite all their contributions. Too much tension would be created with their presence in the fold. Too disruptive despite what they would bring to the table.

    Thoughts?

I would love to see G Neville back at the club as a coach, talks so much sense, has some real knowledge of the game.

Roy Keane great player and leader on the pitch but should never be near a managing / coaching role IMO.

Solskjaer neville giggs,, all reasonable choices. Evra? not sure what he could offer United in the future nor Ferdinand unless you want a reefer smoking coke head at the club. Not slating him but he does like to dabble.

Becks, again not sure what he would actually bring but image so i agree on that one too

I admit that I am a bit biased in regards to Evra, Ferdinand and Carrick and perhaps Vidic as well as they have been the cornerstone of all our successes of the past 7 years. They are not just Manchester United players but also Manchester United fans and I feel they'd be a nice bunch to retain in a certain capacity at the club.

I guess in some capacity I suppose, Evra seems a volatile character to me. Can understand you being for him as a player alright, but working for the club, I know we all ignore stuff because these guys play for our clubs but when you look past that Evra Gerrard and a host of other players are tools really when you go beyond the football.

I honestly don't see what Gerrard can bring to Liverpool after he finishes playing.

    I can't believe I forgot ambassador Cantona :(

Sisu are you seriously saying you don't see Gerard anywhere near Anfield once he is done with his playing career? In any form? I didn't see that one coming.

he is hated by many of our rivals .. that by itself should be enough reason to give him the coaching job <laugh>

he seem to have the charisma and a great eye to analyses matches and performances enough to make him a great asset among our coaching staff

Out of our current squad Evra is the most passionate about United. I'm not sure what role he would take up either, but I'm sure there will be some job offer to remain with the club in some capacity when he hangs up his boots.

Rio's a weird one, because he seems to be passionate about United but he's a bit self involved with his own personal imagine and might want to get involved with the media in one way or another.

I think Evra being "volatile" is a just a part of his passion, bit like Gary Neville in that regard.
