This last week the following managers have been sacked Richie Barker - Crawley Town Sean O'Driscoll - Brizzle City Dave Flitcroft - Barnsley Dave Jones - Sheffield Wednesday Martin Jol - Fulham The silly season has well and truly begun and there are a few others who are heading out the door over the next few weeks. Thank god that we are now in a stable position and are rebuilding our great football club under the steady guidance of Mick and Terry! Who would want to be football manager?
Well, may surprise you but I was! U-15s school team, got to sussex schools finals and lost! Chichester Colts...smashing team...and won the bleedin cup! Seriously tho, just shows the appalling fickleness of sport, short termism, desire for instant success etc. We are as you say to have Mick...just give him some dosh in New Year!
Part of the big problem in football today, there are some decent managers in that list, managers don't get enough time but also I think because managers don't get enough time even the good ones make stupid short term decisions. You rarely see a manager build a club up over a few seasons anymore do you? Money was great initially for football but it's taken the soul out of the game
Add to that Owen Coyle! PC's cellar is needed in double quick time! I'll get the van, somebody lure MM to it!
I think your right although we seem to be a bit tight with transfer money we do give managers plenty'o'time to get things right.....
I don't think we are tight with transfer cash, it's just that the last window was more about settling unwanted contracts than investing in players coming in.
