Pottering about on a quiet day, I came across this - please log in to view this image The picture - from the Fulham/media account on twitter - shows Curbishley leading the team into the dressing room for the Rotherham game. Is this a clue to the question, what does he actually do ?
Oh so that's what he does, he locates the dressing rooms at away stadiums. I knew he was good for something.
It was interesting to watch him going in for half time against Sheff Utd. Waited until everyone else was in and then moved across the pitch. Cynic in me expected him to be walking in to the dressing room a couple mins after Kit - "thanks for that Kit, good words, now everyone.. forget what he's just said, this is what I want you to do". In reality he's not working against him I'm sure, he's probably working through him!
My goodness, no sooner posted than Kit speaks to the local paper about the Curbs' role. He said, "He’s been really good. He’s vastly experienced and very down to earth. He’s been a big help to me and the staff. He’s come in to assist me with first team affairs. His level of experience is top drawer. He’s not a mentor but he’s someone I can tap in to with his experience. I can court his opinion on all football decisions and he’s got good solid opinions." Kit also made it clear that he is taking charge of training sessions, suggesting that a particular emphasis is being placed on their defensive work after a string of individual errors has seen us concede goals. Adding that he hoped to eradicate those issues before taking on Blackburn.
