They have had an approach for Michael Appleton, a manager who has been at Blackpool for just 12 games, rejected. What are they thinking? I'd like to say fast becoming a laughing stock but that ship has sailed.
Why approach for him? Ridiculous. I wouldnt be suprised if they were so out of touch with football they didnt know holloway had gone and Appleton had been in charge all along.
Beats me, i don't think he has won too many yet at Blackpool. Not that 12 games is a fair assessment of course. To Blackburn Rovers though, it is more or less the estimated time a manger will be employed there.
I know that the championship is probably the most competitive league in England and so manager turnover will be high but why can't these clubs recognise this is ridiculous. it's why we haven't been promoted. Sacking a manager should be the very last resort. Not the way it's currently being done. I mean even though Kean wasn't a great manager he was getting results in the championship now the have to deal with the inconsistencies sacking managers will bring. In a way I always kinda hope derby manage to get promoted and do well as they have been fairly loyal to Clough. They could have sacked him on a couple of occasions by now tbf. Football boards and fans. They are all idiots the lot of them
Each team gets through patches of poor form, you cant just sack your manager because of this. I hope people on this board have learnt that who kept asking for him to be sacked earlier. Though in terms of Berg, it was a stupid appointment in the first place. Why they dont just appoint a normal manager i dont understand.
Saw an ex-player and thought it would get the fans on side would be my guess. After that stuff on Pederson earlier in the season it's clearly just a desire for popularity amongst these people.
Sacking managers rarely leads to long term success. You find the man you want and them back him all the way
If it does become complete, it's not going to work out well at all, relegation battle for Blackburn I'm afraid!
Now the things i dont understand here: 1) Why approach him, he has literally just gone there 2) Why approach him, has he ever really achieved much? If he hasnt pushed it through himself: 3) Why have Blackpool let them talk to him, they wanted him so why let him go? 4) What can they possibly gain by losing him at this stage? If he has pushed it through: 5) Why, he is settling and starting to build 6) Wages i doubt will be too different 7) He is leaving a secure job for an insecure job 8) Blackpool are currently doing well, Blackburn are in free fall
Makes you think Blackpool may have financial difficulties and if they can actually make some money from Appleton, then they will. I'd be surprised if this is the case, they didn't seem to spend much in the Prem, they had all the money from that season and the Charlie Adam deal...I can't really understand what's happening at 'Pool, seems like mis-management to me.
Looks like it is a done deal http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20984926 You can tell how ambitious Blackburn are by looking at his record with Blackpool. Blackpool record - P12 W2 D8 L2
Apparently, they want Phil Parkinson. He was shocking for us, they seem to be looking at him just because of a couple of good FA Cup results.
Indeed, though I just remembered it's the Capital One Cup, rather than the FA Cup(and I suspect Villa will turn things around anyway).
