It's being reported that we will be making a bid for Suarez, in the wake of Bale leaving, stealing the thunder from Arsenal. As I can see this happening, I'd just like to put on record how I've always said that Suarez is a top, top player, and how I think he'd bring a lot of quality to our creativity. 'Pool probably see us as far less a threat to them than Arsenal, and would probably, of the two evils, let us have him for £50m. It will be money well spent, because we'll easily be able to shift him in on a 5 years contract, and then shift him out in a couple of years' time for double that, probably to Real. Let's use this thread to see how this one pans out. I'm sure that our Arsenal cousins will probably want to contribute some comments, too. Let's keep it clean lads. We all know that Whinger has staked his and the club's reputation on getting in the genius South American, and that there is likely to be a lot of disappointment from that quarter, in the event that he chooses the Lane over the Library. Again, no wumming, please.
Yeah I agree, top player and just misunderstood. I really hope these are just fabrications. As good as he is he's a little cock
Why would he come to us? He wants out of Liverpool to go to a team in the champions league, we're not! Quality player, would enhance most teams he went to but is the excess baggage he comes with worth the hassle?
Good player, but not top of our agenda if bale leaves. I'd rather we spend the money on 2 top quality creative players. I can't see us paying that sort of money for him anyway. Plus the fact we're not in the CL, so I would have thought arsenal would be his first choice.
HIAG I seem to remember you saying Suarez and bent were the same, ie one season wonders . Why not bid for bent? He'll cost you a tenth of the price
C'mon on spurs fans...Hiag created this thread...play the game... Anyway, I've always thought this lad was world class....and would live him at the lane. We would get the goals back that bale would take with him. Plus 50 mill still left over.
Have always thought he would be a great fit at Spurs, seems like a really good character to have around the dressing room and I think he would link up well with the likes of Hudd, Rose, Gomes and Livermore. Would be a definite improvement on Bale no question about it. Can we make this thread a sticky please and get it to 150+ pages?
You will only get that if you have half the scouse population camped on your board for 2 weeks, talking rubbish, I wonder if john W Hendry will wonder what levey has been smoking
A lot of us feel the same about him at Liverpool. But you cannot question his footballing ability. If only he stopped trying to eat people and throwing the odd bit of racial abuse about he'd be able to fit into any club in world football. The bloke's a ****ing lunatic, that's clear to see. But his talent and effortless ability is just as clear to see.
Luis has said a lot of things (according to the media) that turned out to be untrue, so why should we believe that he'd only leave 'Pool for a CL side? I reckon he simply wants out of 'Pool, and will go to any decent team. Anyway, he will be more than aware that we have a far greater chance of attaining CL footy than 'Pool. He wouldn't have known that before being conned into joining 'Pool, but he will certainly be under no illusion about it, now. He will have grown up with the 70s myths about 'Pool, and not appreciated that 'Pool's star has been on the wane ever since, and that, today, 'Pool is a very mediocre side. Take Luis out of that side, and 'Pool are very ordinary. Yes, there was a time when I didn't appreciate Luis' talents; some might even say that I was, perhaps, a little hard on the guy. Sure, he does possess some behavioural traits that need to be corrected, but I am confident that AVB is your man for that. As I said, above, I reckon that Henry would rather Luis come to Spurs, if only to spite Arsenal, who have royally cocked up their negotiations with the Yank owner; and Luis is simply desperate to get out. This could work out very nicely for us, especially when we sell him to Real in two years' time for twice what we pay for him. Result! Yeah, so all in all, I think Luis deserves a second chance, and one that he should take in the lillywhite of Spurs.
