The referee James Linington concluding Berardi had denied Tom Bradshaw a clear goal scoring chance when the striker went down in the penalty area. It meant Leeds had to play the majority of the game with 10 men. Leeds said in a statement: “An Independent Regulatory Commission has removed Gaetano Berardi’s one-match suspension with immediate effect following a claim of wrongful dismissal. The FA also confirmed that Bradshaw won't be cited for deceiving a match official after it wasn't referred to the panel. The governing body claim as there was contact made by Berardi, however minimal. On that basis it wasn't referred to a three-man panel of ex match officials. Morning all. If the FA are making the decisions on dubious fouls what is the point of having the panel of ex pro's.
Good morning all... I think this division is just littered with poor referees, technology (including TV) and social media is great for highlighting how poor they are and I’ll be honest, I don’t believe they are any worse than 30 years ago. Take the Berardi incident, how many inside the ground could say without a shadow of a doubt it wasn’t a penalty and a red card offence, probably more could say no to the red card? I haven’t a problem with the penalty, at full speed I felt Phillips was back to cover so no red card, my main gripe was how Harrison was tackled from behind, his standing leg swept away from him and no penalty. Refs should be allowed one major mistake a game but not two game changers. The only way to combat this is to haul them to account, give the ref a two match ban, no pay and hit him where it hurts.
Yes he did it was not a penalty as beradi checked his run. Absolute joke of a ref and completely biased. Harrison should have been a clear penalty.
If I am honest, Berardi was the wrong side of the forward, and as he checked his run, he gave the forward the slightest of tugs (imo). Unfortunately, that gave the forward his opportunity to throw himself to the ground and obtain the penalty. Its not right, but according to the letter of the law, he got away with it.

If he did ruffle the Wally's hair or accidentally touch his elbow or whatever he did, then by the letter of the law it's a penalty. But the law is a crap one and gives the attacking player the chance to cheat the ref. It's a part of the game that I hate and I don't like to see our players do it. But it should be up to the ref to interpret the law in a sensible way. Did Beradi touch him ? Maybe. Was it enough to see him sprawling dramatically to the ground ? Not a chance. As long as the rules are laid down and the ref's aren't able to, or too scared to, make a decision on the severity of the "touching" then it will always favour the cheats in the game.
what you on about if he touched him it's a penalty ? No it isn't, a touch isn't a foul. It needs to be a foul and it wasn't
Does the "victim" have to be in possession of the ball ? because almost every corner kick I see you've got the defending team wrestling players in the penalty area, not giving a **** where the ball is going just the man
TBH I think the the great game of football has become spoiled by governing bodies that has allowed over paid premadonnas called football players to cheat, deceive and earn money under false pretences, needs sorting or the game will suffer. Don’t forget the EFA are bent bastards, the lot of them.
