Good Morning. It's Wednesday 2nd October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds suffer Potters defeat With less then a fortnight until the baptism of fire at Anfield, a makeshift Leeds XI were put to the sword by Championship outfit Stoke City. Leeds were without Rodrigo, Koch Phillips, Cooper, Klich, Dallas and Alioski who were all on International duty whilst Forshaw and Roberts are injured (even though Roberts still made the bench). Casilla returned between the sticks, with Ayling at right back (also Captaining the team), Douglas, Casey, Struijk, Davis, Shackleton, Harrison, Costa, Hernandez and Bamford completed the side. Goals from Collins, Gregory and Ince completed a miserable afternoon for the Whites. Should we read too much in to the LUFC makeshift XI? They consider whether or not Leeds fans should expect the spending spree to continue? The Whites have so far splashed out 62m on Rodrigo, Robin Koch, Joe Gelhardt, Cody Drameh, Sam Greenwood, Illan Meslier, Charlie Allen and Helder Costa Phil said: “My understanding is that Bielsa is starting to soften on another centre-back. I think it’s likely that they will bring somebody else in. [They’ve] been linked with a player in Croatia [Josko Gvardiol]. They’re also keen on Axel Tuanzebe over at Manchester United and they will do another winger, number 10 type to make sure that they are covered there, but I think four or five signings tops, will be as far as they go in this window – I don’t think it will be excessive. “So, financially they might end up spending something close to what Fulham (104.85m) and Villa (143.19m) did after they were promoted, but I think in terms of the recruitment, it will look very different when it’s finished.” please log in to view this image Will Leeds wait to secure signing? Croatian teenage sensation Josko Gvardiol wants to help his present club Dinamo Zagreb qualify for the Champions League before committing his future to Leeds. The 18yo centre back wants to play against Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros, who beat Scottish Champions Celtic last week. The game is set to go ahead on 16th September, The Whites have already submitted a €20m offer (almost 18m) to the Zagreb giants which is believed to be close to being accepted. The report claims that Gvardiol will then pack his things and leave for England, but will Leeds wait another couple of weeks in order to land their player? please log in to view this image
No worries about losing to Stoke. I don't think it's a bad things to have things brought back into focus after the heady days of promotion.
Good morning, Hasn't this year flown by. The game against Stoke means nothing except it convinces me more that I'd like a little extra cover at the back. We'd only be a couple of injuries / suspensions away from a lot of those players having to fill in and while we have some promising youngsters, I'm not sure I'd want that back four facing City and Liverpool in April if we're in a relegation battle.
Meslier was also missing as he is with France U21s Not too worried about Stoke or any friendly match really as no points won or lost. I guess that this International period is effecting every club trying to get ready for a new season, however us more than most due to new faces which need integrating and getting up to speed on Bielsaball. So not very happy with that. The Croatian seems to be a fantastic prospect but for mehe nhere now so maybe I would look elsewhere. Fiorentina are also supposed to be chasing De Paul so lets get this over the line too please
Morning all. Lot of people losing their heads over losing a pre season game. Lot of people who can't see the bigger picture and have short memories in regard to last year's pre season. The starting 11 for the Liverpool game will be very different to that of yesterday.

Lets face it at least six of that team are not good enough to cut it in the premiership let alone playing Stoke City in a meaningless friendly game. Not concerned whatsoever as the way we'll set up in the prem shall be totally different to that disjointed side put out purely for fitness reasons.
In my humble opinion the stoke game means nothing we were just fulfilling an arrangement which gave some a runout that’s all Even if the result had been the reverse I would have still thought the same
To be fair no one could have predicted how our last two seasons would go based on the friendlies played before them, so will neither worry nor get excited about how any of our friendlies go this season either, even the results on our friendlies under Christensen were all over the place, although our season ended up being all over the place too that year As for the Croatian lad, all I know about him is that I signed him for Leeds in Football Manager 2020 at the start of my second season for £18 mil, before selling him 2 seasons later to an Italian side for £ 65 mil. Also signed Antonio Marin at the same time from Zagreb for £ 5 mil before he went and joined Arsenal for £ 35 mil, the following season.
Had to laugh when I heard Rodrigo say in an interview for Spanish tv that he is asking players who had worked for Bielsa what its like in training. He has asked the club to email him some videos of sessions Bielsa puts on............ One look at the video and he will say foooook that what no golf every afternoon
Good Morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey Boro beat Newcastle 5-1 yesterday but does it mean anything must have meant something as 2 players were sent off I am sure that Doc will provide the latest transfer news Kiko needs to go along with Roberts and Forshaw
I would've hoped he'd asked what the training was like before putting pen to paper. It'll be nothing like what he's used to, hopefully we won't have an unhappy star player on our hands before a ball is kicked
Latest news on Rodrigo De Paul is that Udinese have a replacement lined up from Watford as the Udi owner Pozzo’s son owns Watford and they loan each other players. One player sent to Watford last year will be brought back. Also the reason De Paul has already agreed personal terms with Leeds is because he is only on £17k per week or €1m per year. He isnt rewarded as someone of his status should be because he's in a lower status club which is over achieving. This news from the well connected Sky Italy backed up by a Udinese footy reporter who is well connected, so probably as close to fact as we will get for a few days
