Good Morning. It's Wednesday 23rd February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Fans who threw objects face lifetime ban from Elland Road Leeds Utd have identified, and the passed details onto the police of individuals who threw objects at the Manchester Utd players as they celebrated their third goal in front of the South Stand. One of these objects, a coin, hit Anthony Elanga on the head. If found guilty, these fans face a lifetime ban from Elland Road. A spokesman for Leeds Utd said: "Following CCTV checks conducted yesterday, we can confirm that a small number of supporters who threw objects onto the pitch at Sunday's match have already been identified. "As this is a criminal offence, the images and footage have now been handed over to West Yorkshire Police who will seek to arrest the individuals, using the information provided by the club. "Not only do these people face criminal prosecution, but they will also be banned from attending Leeds United games pending the outcome of the police investigation, they will then be subjected to lifetime bans if found guilty. "These people do not represent our loyal fanbase, but there is no hiding from the fact that this is not the first incident of this kind experienced at Elland Road this year. We want to be clear that this is not acceptable behaviour and will not be tolerated." please log in to view this image Raphinha could leave for 20m if Whites are relegated Sport Italia TV Journalist Gianluigi Longari has revealed that Chelsea now lead the race to sign Raphinha in the Summer, followed shortly by Barcelona and Liverpool. The 25yo has been in inspirational form for the Whites since signing from Rennes nearly 17 months ago for 18m. Longari also disclosed that the Brazilian ace currently has two release clauses in his contract. He has a €75m (62m pounds) release clause he can trigger himself, and a €25m provision allowing him to be sold for €25m (20m pounds) if Leeds are relegated. It has been widely publicised that Messrs Orta and Kinnear are working hard behind the scenes to negotiate a new deal with Raphinha's agent Deco, but strangely enough their ambitions are slightly different! please log in to view this image Do Leeds only have themselves to blame On Sunday 23rd May last year, whilst Leeds fans bid a fond farewell to Alioski, Hernandez and Berardi , they knew deep down that whilst the trio had been fantastic servants to the club, it was time to move on to a new exciting Chapter at LS11. In their first season back in the top flight, Leeds had not only secured a top 10 finish, but they were only two wins away from the top six, and European football! A new and exciting chapter lay ahead of them. Summer came and went, and apart from making Harrison's move permanent, and Dan James moving across the Penines, there was very going on transfer wise. Bielsa had faith in his existing squad. He knew their limitations and believed they would be able to show the same levels of intensity they had displayed during previous campaigns. Pre-season proved calamitous. The squad were unable to keep pace with their opponents, whether it be Blackburn, or Ajax. They just seemed leggy, and off the pace. Many put it down to the fact it was 'only' a pre-season game, and was more about fitness! The season started poorly, though once again, excuses rained in. This time, the opening fixtures list were extremely harsh. Then came the injuries. Players were dropping like flies. At one point, Leeds has 13 players absent from their original 21 man squad. The New year started brightly. Leeds picked up six points against Burnley and West Ham, elevating themselves to immediate safety, eleven points clear of the drop zone. It was this, that may have convinced Bielsa he did not need to invest last month. Although currently five points clear of the drop zone, Leeds remaining fixtures look challenging. If they faulter against Norwich or Watford it could be a very close call whether we can survive the drop. please log in to view this image Ever bet against your own club Everyone likes a flutter now and again, but have you ever bet against your club? Many believe it is a crime to bet against your own team, but others insist it softens the blow if your club loses! Where do you stand? please log in to view this image
Morning all Raphinha was dropped against Man U I don’t feel he has looked happy for a while, it’s no wonder he doesn’t want to sign a new contract yet. Squad that is playing poor, leaking goals, a coach who refuses to sign a contract longer than a year, lack of a midfield, risk of relegation and no strength in depth. If I was Raphinha I’d wait and see too and that relegation release fee is worrying, I wonder who else has one
Good morning all (with a very large gulp for tonight) I am not a betting man, and certainly not against my beloved Leeds, however with hindsight, and all the losses i could have been a very rich man But who would have guessed that, after last seasons performances, we would even be talking about this let alone bet on it
The scum were winding up the Leeds Utd fans up by the way they celebrated and where they celebrated and for some of their gestures. They should be reminded of their responsibilities. Football is becoming so sterile, snowflaky and woke that why not ban celebrations, just let the players clap. I mean you can't sing anything that might offend and how about the scum fans bringing in a turk flag, was anything done or said about that. I don't think sky said anything about it and they hold the high moral ground it seems on everything.
Morning Fans getting banned from the stadium doesn't bother me/ Every club has a contingent of idiot fans. If Raph goes this summer then at this point I wouldn't be surprised. Does he want to play in the Champs if we get relegated or player in the Champs League. It's a no brainer. No wonder he hasn't signed a contract. Bielsa is the one to blame for what is happening. We've all heard that he has final say on transfers. I don't get this small squad system. We should have rerplaced Berra and Pablo and put depth in tro the squad and we have not. I'm not a betting man but hell yeah I would bet against us after the season we've had
Hi Shaks Michael has come up with a cracking idea to solve the problems of not getting tickets for games. Why don't Ben & I come over and meet you, OLOF & his chum and take in a Shamrock Rovers game followed by a Leeds match live in the Camden in Dublin? Chuck in a couple of sherberts sounds like fun - what do you think?
I know what you are doing Narcos and you can tell that Glory hunting rovers fan that he can go and ****. **** stirring bollocks.
Why was Raphinha dropped? It doesn't make sense. Bielsa is not a coach that picks players due to form. If the same players are available, he'll stick to that side! Last season poor Klich had to play until he could no longer walk.
Raphinha was dropped because he has been poor and not effective for weeks, just a good trick and a cross don’t cut it in PL these days.
9 goals in 22 matches isn't bad for a team that's been average this season, perhaps if others had stepped up to the plate with the same record we maybe wouldn't be in the position we are, put it like this if we do drop and lose him for the reported 20 million I'd be more than pissed off
