Good Morning. It's Wednesday 20th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Perkins signs three year deal at ER Sonny Perkins became Leeds seventh Summer signing yesterday, ending weeks of speculation regarding which club the England U18 star would choose. Leeds were up against both Spurs (the club he supports) and Aston Villa, but emerged victorious, after extensive talks with Victor Orta. He angered former club West Ham by quitting at the end of his scholarship on July 1. They also accused his agent of turning the youngster against them. The Hammers will be entitled to compensation. The fee will probably be set by a tribunal. Perkins was highly rated at the London Stadium, and even played a part in their UEFA Europa League campaign last season (against Rapid Wien, coming on as a 78th minute substitute). He started his fledgling career as a No 10, but is now more accustomed as a centre forward. In ten appearances for England U18's, he has netted four times. please log in to view this image Odds shortening for Harrison departure Leading Bookmakers Sky Bet have shortened their odds of Jack Harrison joining Newcastle Utd this Summer to 2/1. The 25yo only joined Leeds last Summer for circa £12m, having spent three years on loan (costing Leeds approximately £3m per season). He only has two years left on his contract, and as such, he either needs to sign an extension, or be sold on, for profit. Manchester City have a 20% sell on fee. please log in to view this image Cooper hopes to be fit for Wolves opener Leeds Skipper Liam Cooper is hopeful he will overcome his Achilles injury, and be fit to lead the team out against Wolves in 17 days time. Despite travelling to Australia, the Scottish International has yet to feature in either of the Whites' pre-season fixtures. According to Cooper:- "I just have a little issue with the fat pad behind my Achilles at the moment," . "I've tried joining in a couple of times, and it's just not quite right at the moment, but I'm getting there slowly but surely." please log in to view this image Shackleton departs for Millwall Jamie Shackleton has joined up with Charlie Cresswell at Millwall The versatile 22yo has penned a season long loan, and if successful will join the Bermondsey outfit on a permanent basis. Injuries and competition for places have limited Shackleton’s game time in West Yorkshire, and with the arrival of Arronsen, Roca and Adams, a Summer move always looked likely. He made 79 appearances for the Whites since his debut in August 2018. please log in to view this image Raphinha scores Worldie on debut Raphinha scored an audacious volley on his Barcelona debut as Xavi's men ripped apart Inter Miami 6-0 during the first game of their pre-season tour of America. surprised only 3 years for perkins... maybe we're hedging because of the wages, but you kind of have to make a decision on him in a years time... ie extend or move on. Likewise Harrison... i hadn't realised he'd signed for 3 years... i guess that's why there's a decision to take on him as like raph/kp his value will drop in 12 months.
Hope theres no more of our quality to depart. We need the half dozen or so from last season involved to knit the new team together. Too much of a gamble to be honest to let Harisson go. Painful watching Raphas goal and many more to come. Strange his celebration seemed subdued
If the rapha goal was a worldie we need to redefine worldie. Anyway he's gone. No more ex-player bollox ruining our morning threads please Matt!
Marsch presser: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/leeds-united Archie Ok, stock line on harrison not too convincing. Sounds like our plan B for CDK is that we haven't really worked one out
Morning all Not bothered about the Perkins signing. I'm more bothered getting players in to the first team after last season. If Cooper is another player we get injury problems with all season then I'm sorry then I think we need to get rid next summer. Yes he's our Captain and he's been with us for 8 years but I don't want an aging sick note filling up the treatment table. CDK can we just move on. There's only a few days to the start of the season and we need a 2nd/3rd striker in our ranks. Does anybody know what is happening with Newcastle and Harrison. This Saga has been going on all summer.
not in this article but quoted elsewhere that marsch says we're actively pursuing left back as well as striker
Archie Gray might be able to play Friday. Dramah has a niggle so might not play. Cooper probably won't make first game vs Wolves.
As he's not a season ticket holder maybe getting the f*ck out of the queue might speed things up for those that are actually trying to buy their tickets. Typical wakey being a knob.
