I think it would be impossible to make wholesale changes due to the financial restrictions in place. However I’m happy with that because like Marcos I’d like to keep the majority of this team together. You can’t buy team spirit and we seemingly have it in spades. Would want us to invest in a good quality left back as an absolute minimum. Would also send Anthony back to his parent club, but ask them instead about Brooks as a permanent acquisition. Truth is none of us know how this team would get on if we were promoted. Not sure about either Kamara or Gruev, due to lack of pace. Suspect they’d be pressed far more and therefore struggle to get control. However I’d love them to prove me wrong. Rodon’s done well at this level, but still not sure about how he’d fare in the EPL, which is why the Chelsea game will be an interesting watch. One I badly want us win.
I once sent him an email while under the influence. I checked back a few days later to discover Id called him that. Couple of years ago and I still haven't received a reply. Strange
Right gotcha now So when we don't win all our remaining games it's all our own fault as we should have done. Not sure there's anyway to argue against that. However back in the real world it's entirely possible we have an amazing season points wise but still miss out. Not because we slipped up but more that someone else did just that little bit better over the 46 games.
Ipswich's next 9 games; (opponents league position in brackets) Millwall away (19) Swansea away (17) Rotherham home (24) Birmingham home (18) Plymouth away (15) Bristol City home (11) Cardiff away (14) Sheff Wed home (23) Blackburn away (16) As mentioned earlier the tractor boys results will now start to pick up again and to be honest that's a really good looking set of fixtures.
Understand you fully but you could throw the dice the other way. every team at the bottom are now fighting for their lives and games go up a notch. pressure is also a key factor come the end of season games plus Ipswich now find themselves chasing rather than leading the way. It's a mental game as well as a footballing one. We could also fold on pressure it's going to be a exciting finish btw the 3 of us as no one else is getting close.
Totally agree that if we're promoted the core of that successful side has earn't the right to give it a shot in the PL If that means we come straight back down then so be it. However by getting rid of Ayling, Anthony to go back and Cooper plus Shackleton out of contract there's room in the squad for some quality additions to give us the boost we'd need.
Let's see as Ipswich are at Millwall tonight and having watched quite a bit of Ipswich this season I'm fully expecting an away win.
Hopefully everyone noticed how accomplished Meslier was again last night. Quite outstanding distribution which is vital to how we play under Farke.
Milwall total rubbish. Three down at half time. Only consolation is they look like they could be relegated. Pity our ex Wally residents are In permanent hiding
My hope was that we’d get promotion with improving youngsters, in that I did assume Drameh, Gyabi and Cresswell Summerville, Rutter, Gnonto - I’d be confident in them being okay in the PL should we get promoted, Gray too, assuming we can hold on to them
That's 4 excellent young players to build a team around. Add in Ampedu, Meslier and Struijk and that's a strong core of players with hopefully still plenty of improvement in them.
Ipswich win 4-0 which should bring a dose of reality back to proceedings. All to play for but it ain't going to be easy that's for sure.
Kieffer Moore scored again. That's 3 goals in 3 apps or 3 goals in 2 starts if we look at just starts. Meanwhile, Paddy is injured again.
You two should get a room and smash it out of your systems like Wakey and..er,…. Well anything with a pulse
