Good Morning. It's Tuesday 30th July, and here are the Leeds Utd headlines Pearce heading for exit door. Barnsley look set to complete a hat trick of signings from the Whites as highly rated England U21 International Tom Pearce looks set to complete a permanent deal at Oakwood Park. The promising 21 yo joins fellow academy starlets Mallik Wilks and Aapo Halme as Bielsa's tries to lighten his squad and minimise expenditure. The 22yo was expected to complete a consecutive loan move to Ibrox this Summer, but in an unexpected twist, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has decided that he wants to recoup his investment with an asking price of 10m. Unfortunately for the Gers, they do not have that kind of money, but it wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility for Leeds to come up with that sort of dough. Kent is very high up on Bielsa's wish list. Bielsa even postponed his flight arrangements to Australia so he could see Kent play, and meet up with Klopp. Why do Leeds need another winger though? please log in to view this image Which youngsters will make the biggest impact this season Which youngster will make the biggest impact to Leeds this coming season? Morning all.. First a thumbs up to Ellandback, it can’t have been easy keeping the breakfast debate going through the summer break and finding topics of debate Ryan Kent would leave us extra options for the wing and number 10 we’d have 3-4 players able to play both positions. I see Harrison as nailed on for the left, Alioski challenging for either #10 or the right with Pablo and Clarke as substitute. The way we play with one striker the two wide players are a vital part, number 10 was a diabolical position last season so Kent, Pablo, Alioski and Harrison going for three spots would leave us a strong subs bench when you add the left out one with Clarke and Roberts, I hope we get him. I’m hoping for big things from Shackleton and Bogusz but at the same time not holding my breathe, I’ve been amazed at some of the U23 exits this close season.
Morning all Transfers in is either done or very near being done. Think I will just sit back and watch what happens. We will get zero or 2 signings. Transfers out we will have moved 30 players out by the end of August (Window open in Europe) Your list of kids will have a few problems Ell because kids can be great and then go through a period of just not having it. Shackelton was the player who was on most fans lips but due to injury is behind now, so hope he gets it back soon. Edmondson went through that last season as he got injured and really had to fight his way back. He lost weight and bulked up and finished the season on fire. He scored 3 against Taddy but doesnt even have a squad number yet and where is he? A couple of other names to watch out for will be big Noah Kenneh another manchild like Bogusz and a player many top clubs have been watching. Look out too for McCarron another 17yo who we signed for big cash from Carlisle. Post September we may also get to see McKinstry. Mouthwatering prospect with the academy teams this coming season.
Morning ristac, and thanks. Bielsa knows what he is doing, and if Kent is top of his wish list, then Leeds should go hell bent to get him.
Morning Doc Alioski is someone who can play in 3 or 4 positions like Dallas and Berardi but he has one hell of an engine on him, a bit like Aling. I'm most excited by Bogusz. I can see him giving Bielsa some selection dilemma problems
Morning all. I'm getting edgy now as don't feel we have strengthened the squad sufficiently for another tough championship season. We already have some significant long term injuries and the season hasn't even started. I don't like to slag players off but let's face it Bamford is a bit of a dud at present and has been for some time. With roofe out for a number of weeks there will be even more pressure for him to perform and his track record does not bode well. I think Bielsa is gambling big time on relying on some of the u23s stepping up. I do think bogusz will make the grade followed by Shackleton. Hopefully some of the others on the list will feature and be able to strengthen the team. I would have liked to have seen a proven goalscorer signed by now but as nothing has happened up to now I am resigned to the fact that it won't happen. So not feeling that confident about the game against Bristol but who knows, a decent win will put a different perspective on my gloomy outlook.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a very wet Bardse at least we are not suffering like the poor residents in the dales I think Bogusz will be a relevation this season and I am surprised we have let Pearce go .When I saw him play I thought he would make an excellent LB Not sure where Kent will fill in unless he can act as a striker I remember him scoring for Barnsley against us £10m too seems an awful lot of money for someone who has only played at tier 2 level
It seems we have almost agreed a new deal for Roofe that ties him down to the club. Just hoping we don't have an Andy Carroll on our hands as he went missing twice last season with injury and now without the season kicking off. I also notice some fans blaming Bielsa for the injury list already but Ayling and Roberts came back injured for a start and the others are from playing in pre season friendlies
10m For a player who was on loan to B.City in 2018 and they paid Liverpool a 300,000 fine so they did not have to play him the required amount of games the loan contract required
We could see the BPF situation resolved today or tomoz as Burnley are in the process of selling Tom Heaton to Villa for around £7m which then means BPF can go to Burnley to sit on the bench behind Pope and Joe Hart can leave along with his huge wage?
Morning all. Think the game against Barnsley will that bit tougher with three young lads out to prove Bielsa and the club wrong.
Has Alioski ever played 10. Harrison ever started as 10? We needed wingers so Pablo can play 10 with Roberts as backup. Looks like he’s thinking Harrison and costa as starters, I think Alioski and Dallas are his fullback cover... with occasional winger cover duties.
Voted the best young player in the whole of Scotland last season, and we know what a mighty footballing country they are.
