Good Morning Everyone Leeds suffered their first defeat since April last night at the hands of Preston. Even when the Lilywhites went down to 10 men following a two footed assault on Baker, Bielsa's men were unable to breeak their deadlock. I think we can put this one down to a bad day at the office - we have more important things to worry about!!! Some of the boo boys from social media came out last night, decribing the team as league 1 fodder. Thoughts? Following Leeds under par performance from his second string, is it more likely that we will see incoming loanees. Only today and tomorrow left. Former Spurs legend, turned pundit Ledley King has been speaking about Leeds are their promotion aspirations:- “Leeds are proving to be the Championship’s team to beat as they walked through Norwich at Carrow Road to take their tally for the season to 13. “Boro have matched Bielsa’s side and trail only on goal difference, but Leeds’s performances have been that of a Championship winning side so far, while Pablo Hernandez’ contract extension is looking like some of the best business in the league.”
Morning all Bielsa out, right? some dickheads about on social media It had to happen but at least it was the dodgy named cup so no real harm done except to the coffers and game time for some players. Nobody likes to lose and especially Bielsa, so I'm expecting a few fks being thrown about today at TA and some extra coaching to counter the tactics that Neil brought to ER because Pulis will do the same and have a bit extra as well. Bielsa said he couldn't rip into Pearce, Nessy and Shacks because they are the apprentices, but he was going to be firm with some others. I never got to see the match and just managed to hear the audio for the last half hour. From what I understand from Heidi Bamford could have had a hat trick and the result would have been completely different if one of his first half attempts had gone in. Bielsa said Preston had 4 chances and scored 2 and we had 12 chances and didn't score when we normally score from 50% of our chances. So lets just say it was a bad day at the office and we go again in a much more important game on Friday. Boro will be there at the end of the season and to compete and show we might be too, we have to get a result. Last night we again dominated possession with 58% just like we have dominated every team, but possession doesn't always win games.
Morning all... I wanted a win, I would like to have seen a slightly stronger team but the quality we had on show should have been more than enough to overcome Preston, specially 10 men for over an hour. Bielsa is a smart guy though, he’d have took something from the game whether it be a small tweak or the knowledge he has the correct starting 11 for league games. In a minor way it’s a relief to get the first defeat out of the way, 3 points on Friday would be the perfect cure and answer.
Morning all. We should not let last nights defeat get out of perspective. It was disappointing not to score against 10 men, but the radio commentary suggested that we could have scored enough goals in the first half to have won the game. We will see the reaction on Friday. I expect a win.
Good day to one and all. I watched the 3 mins highlights shown by Sky and from that it was apparent there was no lack of effort on goal but it wasn't to be. I would much rather our first loss is in the cup rather than us dropping 3 points in the league but that doesn't mean I'm happy that we lost, I'm never happy when we lose. The cure would be to win against Middlesborough on Friday and keep up the unbeaten in the league run. Yes inevitably we will lose at some point but not yet.
Morning all. Ive made my feelings known about the cups many times so no need to repeat. Its a niggling worry though that if we have a run of , suspensions, injuries or players off form due to fatigue, We may be short on quality to replace them. However, in recent times, cup defeats have started the team spiralling out of control, hopefully this season is different and Im sure it will be
Hopefully we won't be in a position to have to change 9 players due to injuries, suspension or fatigue so when we do have to use our back up players the hope is they will have better players around them and raise their game.
Good Morning to the Maestro and his posse from a dull Bardey I think that last nights result will give Beilsa food for thought about recruits the guy is no fool and I still would like a CBFoyth a WingerBurke and Izziie BrownMore worrying is that the unspecial one has been given one more game who do they get Zidane I hope
Not wanting to single any one player out but how much did we spend on Tyler Roberts? Considering the amount of hype round him I have to say the reports about so far have been far from impressive. Looks like he is heading the Grot route.
Good morning all Disappointed as everyone else about experiencing the bitter taste of defeat it's been a while & i don't like it . However it was by & large our second string. Also any other season i would fear a collapse is now imminent,as these cup exits seemed to affect the first team, but not this time,Bielsa has not only made the first team physically stronger, but also mentally.Cup games are very useful for trying out fringe players,Bielsa will now have more of an idea who can step up when required.Looking forward to a great result on friday,as tuesday will soon be forgotten.MOT
Including Baker and Blackman we finished and played most of the game against 10 men with 8 first team players. This second string things doesn't sit well with me. We were out done at our own game. Yes we could have done better but we didn't. I hope we can do better on Friday.
Not the lose that concerns, me more the number of corners we had and could not convert one of them. Move on to Friday's game.
Morning all. And that above is the key point. As I said last night, this was a ‘team’ thrown together and barely trained as a unit, it’s very different if you replace someone in a settled side. Think how accomplished Shackelton looked when replacing Cooper last minute as a comparison.
You might have guessed that I am not at work today and as it is pissing down, school holidays and I have a 12 yr old to keep entertained I thought XBOX, Fortnite and not606 forum would do the job for both of us
According to Phil Hay Leeds have an attacking prem midfielder lined up to sign Thursday or Friday. Bielsa still doesnt want a CB. The prem midfielder is to cover Saiz as Klich has cover from Baker. I will just leave theboss to get on with it as he knows what he wants and has proved he knows how to do it
Ekuban now a Trabzonspor player on loan for the season with an option to buy. Hope he finds his boots because he looked to be the real deal when he landed but.....
The most disapointing player so far has been Tyler Roberts. He did fine in pre season and scored a great goal, but has really struggled in the first team and subbed both times. Roberts called up by Wales, so hope it helps him get his mojo back. To be fair to him he was part of the Welsh squad when he came to us
Morning all..disappointed about the result last night, suppose we had to lose a game sometime & better to get it out of the way now & move on to Friday. ....
