Good Morning Everyone Leeds have struck a deal with Motherwell to bring highly rated youngster Stuart McKinstry to Elland Road in the Summer. The 16yo winger has also just received a call up to the Scottish U17's. PSV Eindhoven youngster Justin Lonwijk is firmly on Bielsa's radar!!! TuttoMercatoWeb reports that Lonwijk is out of contract in the summer. Leeds would face competition from Eintracht Frankfurt and Roma for the 19-year-olds signature! Norwich City boss Daniel Farke insists "momentum can swing quickly" following the Whites Championship defeat last weekend. “You can’t avoid hearing the result (from Elland Road)," Farke said afterwards. "It is quite normal, but we didn’t focus on that. We knew if we produced a good result then we would improve our position. We did with an amazing win. “Of course, we know the situation now. Not just to Sheffield United and Leeds, but to improve the gap to West Brom and Middlesbrough. More or less, we have a big chance to finish in the top four, but we know we are in the fight for automatic promotion. “There are some tough games still to come. In the Championship, the momentum can swing quickly." “Whatever happens now, this season has been a success,” he added. “No-one would have expected us to be in the position we are in now. We have already overachieved. That is what I have told my players. They have achieved so much this season. “Would it be a failure if we didn’t go up? No, not at all. We have nothing to lose. We cannot lose anything. “We can only win with this attitude. Stay greedy and hungry and enjoy the process, because this club in the past few years has had so many problems, financial pressures, mid-table finishes and losing some of our best players."
Morning all Yes fair play to Farke he and Bielsa have done fantastic this season but so too has Wilder at the Blunts, so game on as there will be more thrills and spills over the next 8 games. Big day for Bolton as they have a winding up order against them today by HMRC. The Ken Anderson sale to the Basran group collapsed so either Anderson will need to reduce his price or pay the tax bill otherwise HMRC will force Bolton into administration. That would mean Basran and Kenyon groups would fight it out to buy the club on the cheap and pay the tax bill as part of the deal for bringing them out of administration. Worst case scenario is that nobody buys Bolton and HMRC for the club into liquidation which means we will lose 6 points, Blunts lose 6 and Norwich lose 6 as we each beat them twice. WBA only lose 3 points. Derby owner Mel Morris has put the club up for sale for £1 as hes losing £3m per month because his gamble on fat Frankie isnt going to pay off. In fact Frank will see his team in a lower position than last season as he wont make the play offs. Chuffed Birmingham could lose 12 points today for fiddling FFFP rules and buying a player whilst under embargo. This would see them drop into the relegation dog fight but as Bolton and Ipswich have already gone ..... Lets hope its Wall who drop too
Morning all Just about got over the weekend defeat but not enjoying the thought of no game this weekend
Good Morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey Yes there will be twists and turns before the season finishes but you must favour Norwich as they have a cushion now I have an horrible feeling we will be in the playoffs and play Villa in the final lets hope Grealish is missing! Pleased we are still signing good youngsters so whatever happens we will not have to recruit too many players for next season Birmingham will be in a dog fight thanks to Harry Rednapp spending money for fun in his short stay there and Bolton what a shame for such an old club to be in this position they are relegated now for sure and no doubt the vultures will be circling for any decent players Finally I wish WJ a safe trip to see his second favourite team play Scotland!
We could do with the big Scottish fella to ask around whilst North of the border about our new kid Stuart McKinstry
Lets hope McKinstry proves more successful than a player I thought was going to be good Lee Irwin! Now plying his trade in Turkey withToshack
I don't think Kazhackstan is North of the border I know its pretty cold out there especially wearing a kilt!
Morning Ell & all, Where did you hear about McKinstry? Can't find anything online. I thought the deal died in January.
On Leeds official web site it states congratulations for him getting called up for the under17 I thought you were away by now freezing your nuts off
Bolton Wanderers have been given two weeks to settle their debts or risk going into administration. The club, who are up for sale, appeared in the High Court on Wednesday over an unpaid £1.2m tax bill. However, it is understood owner Ken Anderson has agreed terms with a buyer who will pay off their debts and the hearing was adjourned until 3 April. The supposed new buyer is said to already own a major stake in a "high-level football club". A club statement said: "We are pleased to get the adjournment today, which will allow the club to make progress with the interested party." On Tuesday, Bolton confirmed takeover talks with another interested buyer, believed to be the Football Ventures consortium, had ended. The Championship club now have 14 days to complete a takeover and clear their debts to avoid a winding-up order, which would leave them facing administration and a 12-point deduction. What is a winding-up petition & why is the number of clubs in administration falling? Wednesday's brief High Court hearing in London was the sixth time in 16 months that Wanderers have defended a winding-up petition because of unpaid tax. In 2016, the club successfully avoided being wound up and paid off a £2.2m tax bill when Dean Holdsworth's Sports Shield consortium and Anderson's Inner Circle completed a last-minute takeover. But Anderson, who now owns almost 95% of Bolton's shares, is struggling to finance the club and has said he is doing his "utmost" to sell. Players and staff received February's wages late and their league game against Millwall on 9 March was only cleared to go ahead three days before because of concerns over sufficient stewarding. Bolton are also facing relegation to League One. They are 23rd in the Championship and eight points from safety with eight fixtures remaining this season. The last English Football League club to go into administration were Aldershot Town in May 2013, when they were relegated from League Two.
A Chinese group that owned MP & Silva is suing the founders of the collapsed European sports rights firm after losing hundreds of millions of dollars. The consortium, including state-owned Everbright Securities Co., filed a claim in the High Court in London, alleging commercial fraud, according to a legal filing. The document named MP & Silva founders, Andrea Radrizzani and Riccardo Silva, as defendants but provided no further information. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...ors-sue-after-1-billion-sports-deal-goes-bust
Many thanks for that Jonny as I wasn't even aware MP & Silva had been wound up and for a company valued at over $1 Billion to cease to exist 2 years later is quite extraordinary I would have thought. Obviously it's an ongoing legal matter but just to speculate for a moment...since the sale of the majority shares in MP & Silva various sports rights contracts have changed hands with some being acquired by Eleven Sports which is Radrizani's new company for instance. Not being privy to any legal contracts and/or any restrictions specified during the acquisition of MP & Silva it's impossible to evaluate the merits of the claim filed today in London. What we do know for certain is it's detrimental to the future of Leeds United to have our owner involved in what could prove to be a protracted legal battle. Plus ca change as they say...
