Good Morning Everyone Leeds cruised to a 3-0 win against Preston last night in front of almost 28,000 jubilant fans Only poor finishing, and the post spared the LilyWhites blushes further. Tyler Roberts looked like a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders as the 19 yo scored a second half brace including majestically chipping the keeper for his first. Leeds have have gone eight league matches undefeated. The Leeds Utd boo boys were yet again out in force last night laying into Ali-offside-ski!!!! Does he deserve so much stick? Harrison's performances since Hernandez has been injured have been inspiring, especially for someone so young. Should he be an automatic first choice? I was going to ask which teams in the Championship scare you, but I couldn't think of any, so I'll ask which other teams in the Championship concern you?
Good Morning to the Sherriff and his posse from a sunny Bardsey Wow WJ summed the match up very well indeed and I for one will eat humble pie as Tyler Roberts had a game to remember and showed why we paid 2.5m for him I will keep my thoughts to myself in future as Bielsa knows best Watched highlights of Derby v Blackburn and Dack again if he was fitter would have scored having gone past the keeper what a player he would become under our chief Finally all the teams scare me as they play above themselves against us as its their cup final Boro playing hoof ball and WBA who have some really first rate strikers have that top6 look whilst Brentford may find things tough if they get injuries later on I particularly like the look of Harvey Barnes playing for WBA on loan from Leicester what a handful he is
Morning Ell, I thought we played very very well last night, i would be interested in comments from Guadiola because we were very similar to Citeh style of play, the back four were solid, Harrison especially had a good game, but they all did even Alioski got through a massive amount of closing down and played his part. Roberts is not the finished item from a long way but was pleased for him and he put both of his goals away very well. Teams to fear!!! think its still too early to pick a team we fear, give respect to all of them........ then destroy them, Monks lot Saturday and he will definitely want to upset the bandwagon, hope we send him back with his tail between his legs.
Morning all Harrison is awesome and when Pablo comes back I would give him Alioski's place because he does more damage and creates more than Alioski. Yes hard to prove as Alioski has scored 2 and created 2 but he should have created a lot more so maybe I'm just frustrated with him. He is way better than the one trick pony we had last season who dived about. This season he is chasing back and getting tackles in, but he should be scoring and creating more after doing all the hard work and I think he doesnt work brilliantly with Douglas and when Alioski has an average game it seems so too does Douglas. Harrison is doing serious damage, and tackling back and covering miles on the pitch, and creating chances as well as getting shots off. Someone said earlier when I was frustrated with the end product of Saiz, that maybe if there was an end product he would be in the Prem. Agreed and maybe Alioski is the same. Teams I fear are Birmingham or anyone else we face, as we have had too many seasons where the wheels fall off. However last season after 8 we had 14 points, this time we have 15 but look at the goals difference already. Last night we could have hit double figures and been 3 or 4 up at half time. Klich missed a couple, Harrison missed a couple, Alioski, Saiz, Ayling .... Superb display and chuffed for young Roberts.
West Brom is my worry Morning all, with Harrision Saiz Pablo pulling the strings we are going to create a bucket full
Yes they are Bucks, Bartley looked good when with us in a poorly set up side and will have a mare, tipping him giving away a penalty, but they are leaking goals
Good morning everyone The weather may be stormy & breezy, but if your a Leeds follower it's sunny & bright Great performance last night from all the lads, just wish Alioski could deliver a better finale ball,if he could what a player he would be,hope Bielsa is working on this. The players which stepped up last night were awesome,in particular Harrison, the team looked amazingly strong, seeing we were without Hernandez,Roof etc,Roberts put in a great performance as well, goals are now coming from all over the park,Bielsa now has us playing,so were no longer relying on any particular player as in the past, and also which other championship teams do (where would Brentford be without Maupay) . As for fearing other teams in my opinion, none at all.Come May we will be champions on this form cause i can't see the wheels coming off at all this season, as were looking stronger game by game, as new players step up & are improving the more they play. WBA to finish second & my tip (but please don't put money on) Blackburn to do very well.
Morning all. Happy as a pig in **** here. I thought Jansson was terrific last night. WBA to finish top two or close and Villa will likely be up there too. Tylers goals must have been a huge boost for the lad, especially at home
Morning all... The boo boys forget that each player has a series of jobs to do, it might be pulling a player out of position, covering a position when someone is caught forward or simply closing down in an effective team manner. Last season Lasogga often tried to close down an opposing player but was made to look silly as the closing down was done sporadically, some bothering and some not. Bielsa is obviously putting all the new recruits through their paces, he wants it drum into them what he expects for the position they are competing for. Hernandez might well replace Alioski but if he does it’s because he is better, not because Alioski is poor. Phillips was the victim of the boo boys previously, now it’s Alioski, replace him with Hernandez and there will be another target, a bit sad but despite winning 3-0 and sitting unbeaten on top of the table there are those that feel a need to be negative for the sake of it. I’m not talking about forum debate, but getting on the back of one of your own who is giving 100% at a game isn’t on as far as I’m concerned.
Anyone on twitter should look at Benjamin Mendy's tweet from last night and the reaction its still getting. Mendy the Man City player was tweeting Bielsa with loads of clapping imojis and SUPERB, and the fans have dived in along with other players and Mendy telling Bielsa to ring Pep and he'll come and join the party. Even Sacko got in on the action
Morning all......good result, great performance. I bet that young Tyler feels that a big weight has been lifted off him. Harrison is now starting to show us the reasons why citeh rate him so highly. I can't remember when I last looked forward to the next game as I do now, bring on the brum.
Morning all. Good performance all round last night, each player doing their bit very well. Harrison stood out for me, especially in the first half, as is quite some player. If he can keep that up Bielsa will have a selection headache when Pablo is fit. Before I talk about Roberts goals I have to say I was impressed with his work rate all night, there was one instance when he lost the ball on the edge of their area and chased and won it back on the halfway line. Small criticism, the commentator used the phrase "different wavelength" at least twice in regard to Roberts and passes made to him. I agreed with that and do think if Roofe had been playing we would have been a couple up at half time. As for his goals. The first was just sublime. To get the ball into the position where he would even attempt that chip for the first was excellent work and then to have the confidence to attempt that in only his second start- Bamford might be sweating on the fact he could be third choice if that continues. I was equally impressed with his second goal. Although an header inside the area is not spectacular, for him to arrive and so calmly take the goal says a lot about him, especially only being 19 yrs old. Anybody else pleased to see Brentford drop points at Ipswich as well.
Lots of stories about Steve Bruce being sacked as soon as he slips up, and the bloke earmarked to take over is Dean Smith from Brentford, which will be a nice help for us due to Brentford hot on our heels. Taking a closer look at Smithy you begin to see that yes he likes high press attacking football, but is he as good as he's being cracked up to be? Remember Mark Warburton the man Brentford brought in from his high flying job in finance in the City of London. Well MW at one stage was touted as being the next England manager and he had a win ratio of 52% from 78 games which is the best in Brentfords long history. Warburton was sacked by the new Brentford Board because they wanted someone with their ideas as they demanded prem football? The bloke before Warburton was in charge for 137 games (Uwe Rosler) and got a great return of 44% ratio, so the best 2 managers were Rosler and Warburton who went on to manage Glasgow Rangers. Dean Smith has been in charge for a while now yet only has a 40% win ratio, so what makes Smith's reputation as a great manager? Its beyond me that a bloke who managed Walsall then Brentford averagely in reality is held up as the new Pep?
Morning all last season that would have been a draw at best.we were too quick for preston in every way.what did i tell you about that roberts kid eh ?
