Good Morning Everyone Leeds have been allocated the entire of the Cobbold Stand for the game against Ipswich Town on Sunday, May 5 doubling their allocation to 4000. Town secretary Stuart Hayton said: “We have been aware of the demand from Leeds fans to attend the game and we have had communication from the EFL on the matter but we felt it wasn't something that could be discussed until we were relegated, “We needed to ensure that we could cover the demand to attend the game from our own fans first and that could have increased if our fate went down to the last game of the season. “Having met with the Safety Advisory Group in an emergency meeting today and spoken to the police, it was felt that it was beneficial on safety grounds to allocate the upper tier of the Cobbold Stand to Leeds fans. “We sincerely apologise to our supporters for the inconvenience caused in having to be moved to other parts of the stadium and hope they understand the reasons for this late decision. It's not one we have taken lightly.” As the Championship finale heats up, speculation about Bielsa's future is flying about on social media - in particular what happens if Leeds don't get promoted? Bielsa's contract says he is obliged to stay for the 2019/20 season if Leeds go up. If Leeds remain in the second tier of English football it is up to Leeds to exercise a clause in Bielsa's contract (if they wish to do so) keeping him at the club next season! According to Noel Whelan, he expects Liam Cooper to be fit for the Good Friday game v Wigan! Should Leeds go up, name three players you would want to sign?
Morning all Ipswich have made a business decision and in reality have shat on their own fans to make a few quid from the Leeds cash cow. Great for our fans but a club with no cash and making a loss, have decided to reduce that loss slightly. As far as new players go, I would say the speculation will be massive and all sorts of players mentioned. I would say that if we are promoted there will be maybe 4 players from overseas brought in. Yes there may be a couple of UK players but Bielsa knows what he wants so expect players he has experience of. Former Bilboa players who he looked at at Xmas for example. Llorente', Foyth if Spuds spend this Summer, Ponce' if Roma allow him to rejoin Bielsa. I would say we need a top striker, a top midfielder and winger and cover for Phillips
Morning all... I don’t think it matters what is in Bielsas contract, if he tells the club he wants to stay they’ll snap his arm off if he wishes to leave they’d never try and keep him as it would be pointless. Three signings to name would be hard, I can’t see how you have that much spare cash to compete in the first season in the PL. Player bonuses, pay rises and new contracts would eat into your budget then in terms of signings are we saying £20m x 3 maybe? Probably best looking at out of contract players, I’d take a gamble on Daniel James if he really does have a £4m release clause sown into his new contract and assuming he does also have one. Danny Welbeck is out of contract this summer with Arsenal in two minds over offering him a new one. Vincent Kompany another who hasn’t been offered a contract extension yet, maybe a free agent like him who’d give great experience to the U23s trying to break in.
Morning all. Whatever Marcelo does you can be sure it will be an honourable decision. A player we don't want to sign is the one who's first question is "how much are you prepared to pay me".
Morning all. At least summer transfer will be done quickly. Been reported numerous times that Bielsa likes players to have at least 8 weeks to get up to speed with his style of play. That will surely mean within four weeks of season ending, we'll know if Bielsa is staying and who we will be signing or offloading. Could LL have a quick look over this for typos please
Morning, Watched Wigan the other day and they've got a player called Reece James, classy midfielder who'd fit in perfectly at Leeds. Wiki'd him and found he's yet another Chelsea loanee ffs so no thanks unless we could get him on a permanent deal.
Yes he a very good player, don't think Chelsea will loan us any players after this season, and don't think they will sell.
Teachers report, Eire has shown a considerable willingness to learn from those in the know. His ability to recognise, and correct his mistakes displays a plethora of willingness to advance in his chosen subjects. Strong points, Willingness to learn, willing to listen and take notes, has an uncanny attitude towards being the best he can be. Does not succumb to peer pressure and has a strong belief in personal individuality. Can hold a good intelligent debate / conversation before his 5th beer........
Good Morning to Matt and co from a pleasant Bardsey Surprised Barton has not been charged yet the sooner he is out the better Players I would look at Daniel James is a must Still think we need a replacement for Cooper A striker Bamford is not good enough but maybe we have one already in Edmundson and a playmaker as Hernandez will need a rest Kieran Westwood to replace BPF Would you turn down £20m for Phillips?
£20 million for Phillips is about halfway there in the current market so no, Southampton can do one. I wonder how much Che Adams would be? His work rate would definitely please Bielsa.
Last 2 posts by Heaven & Chesh show how ridiculous transfer fees are for UK players. Value is overseas but you do get a tested article with UK players. Value for money NO
Looks like the Bolton sale has finally been agred and the Bessini Group take it on. Bessini if you remember was in charge at Watford not long agao and is as shady as his mate Cellino. Bessini was found well guilty recently so chuffed that the fit and proper stuff works. Maybe Harveys last brown envelope
I'd turn down £20m for him as who would we get to replace him, PL players who are English and around 23 years of age fetch an absolute premium
Arsenal fan here. If you go up this season, I think youll stay up there for a long, long time. which is why I think it would be good if you built a side around youth. You already have one of the best academies in the country, and I think getting players like Che Adams and Daniel James in addition would set you up nicely for the long term. Dont forget that about half of Southamptons former squad now plays for (and are arguably the most important part of) Liverpool, so if you can get these young players and keep hold of them who knows what can happen? either way, good luck for the run in. Hopefully we see each other next season
If we don't go up I suspect he will want the move, probably the reason he is stalling contract talks. He will know either way in a few games.
Good evening all Whether we go up or not there'll be plenty of speculation regards Bielsa & players. Naming three players of my choice would be out of our price-range. I can more or less guarantee the players that arrive at ER in the summer will be unexpected & unknown signings to the majority of us. Another wing-back, centre-back, pacy winger, creative midfielder & a top class goalscorer required
