Good Morning Everyone Betting has been suspended on Jordan Hugill to join Leeds. The 26yo hitman will pen a one year loan deal with the Whites as early as today. Similarly, Norwich have snapped up Jordan Rhodes, also on a season long loan. Who has the better deal? Leeds were charged more for policing than all London clubs combined last season. It cost West Yorkshire Police (WYP) £815,087 to pay for officers at Leeds United matches in 2017/18, exclusive figures reveal. The club have been invoiced for £572,779 of that total - 70 per cent. However, London’s biggest clubs were charged just a fraction of that cost. Thoughts? Birmingham are about to undergo a transfer embargo. I wonder whether they'll have a sudden change of heart over Stockdale? The England game will be shown on the big screen at Billy's bar this evening. Who's going?
Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey Is it better to be playing France than Belgium I wonder.I was not happy with Lukaku contribution last night he should have scored from that great cross from De Bryne and seemed lazy to me Ronaldo would have buried that chance as would Shearer and many others Fellani too was poor allowing the player to have a free header On the transfer trail it would appear we are getting 5 loanees copying in Wolves from last seasonand Wolves finished 13 the season before! Angus Gunn ahs joined Southampton for £13.5 m more than we have spent in 14 years! Hughill will be a target man so we can still afford another striker Dwight Gayle would fit that position and give us pace Foyth looks like our new CB along with Blackman in goal so that leaves us with one more Harry Wilson fits the bill Police retreiving their losses re Bates era Finally good luck to our boys from Yorkshire tonight
A year loan ? Good business IF we invest elsewhere. I see a trend worrying trend emerging Morning all
Happy England day Bucks. For me its a no brainer. I cannot think of one Championship club (or half a dozen Premiership clubs that would not want Hugill on a season long loan).
Happy England day Mike, Belgium did not perform like they can. Great should about Gayle. I forgot about him...
Morning all Having communication problems with 606 last 24hrs England to win tonight and we have a very good chance against France
Morning all.. Would have preferred Vydra or Hernandez, Hugill on a season long loan is okay, as for suspended betting, I believe the same happened with Vydra becoming a Leeds player too. Apart from lack of signings my biggest disappointment is the Keeper, I personally feel we need someone like Gunn on loan for a season, someone outstanding, signing someone on loan who is not much if any better than what we have in BPF seems a huge waste unless BPF is number one and Blackman is seen as reserve. By the end of this week, that should be the deadline for our new recruits, they need to be here for a full friendly fixture list, every year it seems to be the same old story, deals collapsing at the last minute and greedy players or agents are always blamed. I don’t believe for one minute Vydra agreed on 30k a week and at the last minute said no I want 50k now. More likely he wanted 50k from the outset and we tried to sell him our dream and working under Bielsa as a reason for believing we could persuade him to lower his demands. One day we might learn to stop chasing players outside our wage structure, at least until we have a genuine dream to sell, as it stands today, teams in supposedly financial trouble like Derby and Villa still both have a far superior chance of promotion than we do. France or Belgium, let’s win tonight first.... As for Belgium or France, France are consistently very good, Belgium will play like world beaters and be untouchable for 2-3 games then have an off day. France the more beatable team for me but in a final it’s about holding your own nerve.
Happy England day ristac. very much, the Hugill deal was seen as too good to turn down. He was given a total of 24 minutes playing time with West Ham; the lad has a lot to prove. He had a 10m price tag seven months ago. To be able to bring him on board and only have to pay wages is a no brainer...
Good morning from hopwood services M42 and im going home jobs done.hughill is a decent target man a position we missed after wood left.who is this foyth 60 is on about ?.
Why because of a price tag? In 5 years he has 147 appearances and 37 goals, I don’t share your optimism, he is no Vydra or Hernandez. If we’re judging players on price tags remember Sacko and his release clause fee and the supposed value of Lasogga. If Bielsa has watched videos of him and identified him as someone he wants fine, I’ll go with it but give me Hernandez on a free and 40k a week any day over Hugill This time next year Hernandez would still be our player and have a value in excess of 10 million and I genuinely believe a lot more goals to his name. Hugill best season 13 goals in 47 appearances. Hernandez 248 appearances and 79 goals, in English football 36 goals in 99 starts, that’s outstanding. On a free transfer this is the no brainer for me.
Happy England day Wakey. Foyth is the Spurs central dender they signed for 10m last season. Held in very high regards by Pochettino. The lad is from Argentina.
Assuming we sign Foyth, Hugill, Blackman and a marquee front man, can anyone show me a starting 11 formation?
Seriously Elland ?? If Hugill is the answer then I hate to think what the question was, other than Radz saying lets tempt the fans with two potential signings that we aren't really trying to sign as we know we can't afford them, and then lets see how excited they get when we settle for our third choice, that hasn't exactly set the world on fire during his playing career
Good morning Matt & All Unsure about Hugill though he could be the answer to our striker problem. Rhodes is an expensive flop whom is best left alone right now Not bothered about Stockdale & the wage demands that comes with him. We already have a decent keeper in Peacock-Farrell who has cost us next to nothing Police costs are always expensive. If football fans (especially Leeds) behaved humanly & sportingly we wouldn't have these unnecessary high overheads, once again a society problem, we bring it on ourselves. It's a tribal aspect with football fans. I'll be watching the England game at home
Absolutely. Hugill was never part of our plans, but as a second striker, and not having to pay out millions of pounds, looks like a bargain to me.
Morning Leon, a few years ago, would have done anything to get Rhodes, but now I'd pass... Nothing against Peacock Farrell, just need a bit more experience in this unforgiving league.
But we had that with Laosgga last season, and Lasogga managed to score a goal for us every 186 minutes that he played, compared to Hugill he managed to score a goal every 283 minutes that he played for Preston, so you are happy that we have someone who had a worse scoring rate than Lasogga last year, I'm sure that makes sense to someone but not me
The likes of Hugil, Rhodes not for me, suggest we want players on the up with a future not on their way down. We have to trust in our coach that he knows what he is doing. We can all shout if things don't kick off with the right results. Maybe just maybe our coach sees something in our younger players that no one else has to date.
