Good Morning. It's Tuesday 20th February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Tough decision for Farke ahead of Friday thriller Leeds boss Daniel Farke faces a selection dilemma ahead of the top of the table clash with Leicester City on Friday night. With Dan James fit again having taken a knock to the knee against Preston a month ago, the gaffer must decide whether he can afford to drop Wilfred Gnonto! The plucky 20yo has netted four times in as many games in James' absence. It's not just James' pace that has terrified defenders. With ten goals, six assists and an incredible 'Whoscored' rating of 7.13 (3rd), the 26yo has shown some of the best from in his career this season. please log in to view this image Would you take a draw if offered Leeds are on a roll. Eight straight wins have catapulted the Whites into second place in the Championship, but they face an altogether new challenge on Friday night with the visit of Leicester City. The Foxes are on course for a record points tally this season, having taken the Championship by storm, racking up 78 points from 33 games so far. They lost the reverse fixture back in November at the King Power Stadium 1-0, thanks to a tap-it by Rutter on the hour mark, but are now out for blood. Daniel Farke's need for three points is greater than Leicester's. There may be 13 games left, but Leeds won't want to surrender second spot to Southampton, especially when they are on such a fine run themselves. If you could guarantee a point now, would you take it, or risk defeat at the hands of the league leaders? please log in to view this image What a big Jesse Speaking last night on Monday Night Football, a clearly emotional Jesse Marsch told of his heartbreak when sacked by Leeds Utd twelve months ago. Marsch was a guest on the Sky Sports show, previewing the Everton v Crystal Palace clash, but it was the 50yo that found himself in a sticky situation, recalling the pain and emotion after receiving his marching orders last February. “Working with the players was fantastic. They fought and gave everything they had for me. I appreciated working with them, I really enjoyed the whole process and the team that we were becoming,” “And so, even earlier when I said I was heartbroken, really, it was really difficult for me to say goodbye. And I never did say goodbye to them, because I couldn’t. I couldn’t stand in front of them because I knew I’d break down. So I just individually dealt with a lot of them.” please log in to view this image
Under 9's coach Jesse Marsch continues to baffle everyone as to how he was deemed good enough to manage in the PL.
We got one manager right out of six or seven in Ortas time. The rest were absolute dross. Marsch likely the worst but it's a close run race. Draw wouldn't be a disaster but would likely mean top spot would be out of reach this season
Morning all Leeds fans. We're at home, we should not be settling for a draw. A draw means three things; 1/ Letting Leicester off the hook after a defeat to Boro when we should be putting them under pressure 2/ handing back control to Southampton. Assuming they win this weekend its all in their hands again. 3/ possibly losing ground on Ipswich too if they win their games in hand. A win on Friday would be a massive blow for all three of them.
you guys are so mean about cousin jesse. DF could only dream of keeping a team out of the prem bottom 3, having not managed it in 2 attempts. 14 consecutive defeats!
I think we are a better side now than when we beat them away this season. There will be no team talk needed for this one, as the players and supporters will be up for this from the start.
Current odds to be promoted; Leicester 1/50 Leeds 1/3 Saints 4/7 Ipswich 13/8 Surely that’s a crazy price for us given our terrible play off record.
Big week me thinks All about bottle now, Lots of permutations can be thrown around. 1. If we win we close the gap to 6pts to Leicester but could still find ourselves 1pt behind Southampton come Sat night. if we lose its 12pts behind Leicester and a possible 4 behind Southampton and 3 behind Ipswich as both play 2 games this week. 13 cup final games now for everyone. as one slip the advantage could well go to a rival. As on would I take a point Friday night I'd say yes if we were losing 1-0 and in the last quarter of the game. But, I'm quietly confident we will take them out. MOT! ALAW!
Easy win for Ipswich tonight but can see Hull giving Soton a few problems, wouldn't be surprised to see that as a draw.
I was thinking the same. wouldn't be to bad an evening if that's how it paned out, but if by some fluke Rotherham could force a draw as well, Happy Happy days. So here's to some good results this evening
My mates off to St Mary's tonight, and he is not confident, so i duly wished his team the mother of all bad luck
