Good Morning. It's Tuesday 17th November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Ayling - we should have a few more points on the board Leeds vice Captain Luke Ayling has been speaking to LUTV about their start to the season. The 29yo believes that although things could be worse, Leeds deserve more points on the board than they already have. “Overall, I think we’ve started well, but the last two games have been disappointing," Ayling told LUTV. “To let in eight goals in the Premier League and expect to get anything from it, that’s not going to happen, so we have to tighten up there. “We have still been in games though and I don’t think the score-lines have been fair if you really look at it. “We’re eight games in and have 10 points, so it’s not the worst start in the world, but certainly inside the dressing room, we think we should have a few more points on the board.” please log in to view this image Next eight games of 2020 are critical We all know that traditionally Leeds tend to wade during the second half of the season. In fact, over the last nine seasons (apart from last season) Leeds would amass between eight and ten points in their last 12 games. Perhaps Bielsa has broken the voodoo, having secured the title for the Whites with games to spare. What is important, is that Leeds don't get dragged down to the dog fight at the pit of the table. Bearing that in mind, let's have a look at the remaining fixtures of 2020. Home v Arsenal Away v Everton Away v Chelsea Home v West Ham Home v Newcastle Away v Manchester United Home v Burnley Away v West Brom Leeds next six opponents all sit above them in the Premier League, not that would have any bearing on results. How many points from their remaining eight games of 2020 do Leeds need, to be comfortable? How many points do you think they'll actually get? Morning Ell. Two terrible players, I witnessed at first hand away against the Wendies. I think we lost 6.0. The same game I met Glory at. How's the health Elland. I don't think the last two games reflect fairly on us and the score lines certainly don't. But we've had the break and we're playing an Arsenal side that aren't firing on all cylinders. So there is always a chance. First goal crucial.
Morning pal, its better than it was thanks pal. Still waking up 5 or 6 times a night, but am at least getting some sleep before the Asthma wakes me up
Morning all, We all were expecting more losses this season than we've been used to recently. The reason these last hurt as they have is that they were in the same week. If Liverpool had beaten us 4-1 first game and then Leicester had 6 games later we would have just all just accepted it as par for the course. My god there are some horrifying names on that loan list.
Morning all That loan list is hurting my senses and should be taken down. There were far too many who I thought were going to be brilliant but turned out shyte, there were far too many who were shyte who went on to play for England straight after returning to their clubs (& Scotland) so worked out great for them but were useless for us. There was a couple of loans who worked out great in the end, but my experience of our loans was that some saw it as wages and thats all, some were useless but the odd one was great and showed professionalism and character but not enough
There were a couple who looked brilliant but as soon as they signed a contract turned to ****e. Andy O'Brien being the main example.
2 Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps was a great funny comedy and every time I watched it it reminded me of the value of some of our loan players.
Ayling is correct we should have had a few more points Clumsy poor defending, VAR, injuries/covid absence & naiveness has cost us points
Kishishev was quite decent, a experienced Bulgarian international who gave us a bit of metal in the midfield, had a smashing debut I seem to recall, played about a dozen times on loan from Charlton. Radostin's presence coincided with our best results of the season but it wasn't enough to save us from relegation to League One. Leeds wanted to sign him, unfortunately we were in such a financial mess we couldn't afford his services
Agreed with Ayling I think how we've played deserves more points but we've played some very good teams. And our luck wasn't there when we played Palace, hopefully that'll change soon. I think we can get 13 points from those games. No idea if that'd be good or not though. At this moment in time I'd be happy to attend any of the below games... Think Chelsea away and Scum away would be class though. Home v Arsenal - D Away v Everton - L Away v Chelsea - W Home v West Ham - D Home v Newcastle - W Away v Manchester United - D Home v Burnley - W Away v West Brom - D I can honestly say I can't remember half of those loan players.
Can we really hope to lose only once from the next 8 fixtures ? Would be nice but after losing 4 already it would seem improbable. If we get the 3 wins you've forecast though we'd still be doing ok and that's really all that matters...keep winning even if it's once every 3 matches. The dreaded unthinkable is to get into a rut and pattern of losing/drawing games as you quickly sink to the lower reaches of this division if that happens. That's why the next 3 matches are vital for our confidence.
Looking at those next 8 fixtures I reckon 10 points, which will be the same return as the first 8 games. Wouldn't be too shabby as it should still give us some breathing space from the bottom 3.
Exactly Forza Not sure why some are still expecting/predicting Champions League qualifying form and results. PPG @ 1.25 sees us finish around 10th, so more than acceptable....in other words 10 points every 8 games.
Probably not but just a prediction based on the teams and what I've seen from those teams. I think suggesting 13 points isn't beyond the realms of possibility out of 8 games considering we got 10 from 8 while playing 2 considerably better teams in Man City and Liverpool. It may just be the case of losing one or two I've got down as draws and winning one I've put down as a draw. Agreed, we just need to be consistently picking up points and our confidence will remain. If we get on a run of losing that'll be hard to get out of in the PL. How do you see those 10 games going?
There are 4 eminently winnable fixtures...so of those I'd hope to win 2. The others I'd take anything we can get. Somewhere between 6 and 10 points I guess but it's really hard to call.
Afternoon all... That loan list, who are the top 10 and bottom 10... I’m having a job picking 10 decent ones, I can’t even remember some of them.
